Early Elementary School
will be holding registration
for all new third, fourth, and
fifth grade students from 9
a.m. to 4 p.m. today and from
9-11 a.m. Friday. Parents need
to bring their driver’s license,
proof of residence, the stu-
dent’s birth certificate, social
security card, immunization
record and TAKS results.
Students who attended Early
ISD last year do not need to
register.
The Justice of the Peace
offices will be closed today
and Friday for training. All ap-
pearance dates scheduled on
these dates will be extended
till Monday, Aug. 12.
The Brown wood Recreation
Department will be offering
training for those interested in
becoming an American Red
Cross Certified Lifeguard.
Sign up is Aug. 1 -15, with the
class to start evenings Aug.
19-29. (No classes on Sun-

Brown County Museum of
History is displaying the fire-
arms exhibit “Bullets, Badges
and Badmen, the Guns that
Brought Law and Order to
Texas”. Also on display are Pi-
oneer, and World War III Camp
Bowie artifacts. Open from 10
a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays and
Fridays, and from 10 a.m. to
4 p.m. Saturdays. Located in
the Old Jail, 212 N. Broadway
across from the Courthouse.

The Pecan Valley Kiwanis
Club meets at 6:30 a.m. at
Gomez Restaurant.
The Brownwood Kiwanis
Club meets at noon at the
Brownwood Country Club.
Zumba classes will be held
at 5:30 p.m. Mondays, Tues-
days and Thursdays, at the
Bennie Houston Recreation
Center, 505 Cordell St. Cost
per class is $2 per person.
Classes are open to everyone.

Zone support group meets
from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at
Building 1, Room 133, at
Texas State Technical College

group supports veterans,
active duty military, National
Guard and reserve members
and their family members who
need support. Issues covered
include deployment, adjusting
to coming home, and more.

“Kid’s Zone” is open with
hands-on exhibits for chil-
dren of all ages at the Brown
County Museum of History
annex. The $2 admission cov-
ers both the old jail and the
annex. “The Guns Of Empire”
firearms exhibit is currently
showing at the old jail. It is
located at 212 N. Broadway in
Brownwood, across from the
courthouse. Hours are 10 a.m.
to 2 p.m. on Thursdays and
Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

as long as the following conditions were
presented to the commissioners:
• Brookesmith SUD provides a letter
stating the potable water would be
available to the subdivision in sufficient
quantity and quality to meet the mini-
mum standards set by the Texas Water
code on or before Dec. 31, 2014.
• The subdivider provides a letter
stating it will furnish sewer facilities
that meet the minimum state standards
on or before May 31, 2015.
• No residence can be occupied with-
out water and sew7er services.
• The subdivider must provide a
statement in the plat record that each
contract from the subdivider to pur-
chaser of land that will describe how
and when the water, sewer, electricity
and gas services will be made available
to the subdivision.
• Letters of credit — $850,000 for
sewer treatment plant, $241,000 for
water services, and $767,000 for roads
— to be in favor of Brown County to
secure completion of the delivery of
water, sew7er and infrastructure will be
recorded with the plat, along with cop-
ies of the restrictive covenants for the
subdivision.
In other business, the court:
• Approved the transfer of a owner-
ship of a used water truck from Precinct
3 to Precinct 1.
• Approved the election judges and
alternate judges for 2013-14 presented
by Suzy Young.
• Approved the Order of Election
presented by Young.
• Approved the offering of Native Air
Memberships to county employees for
their consideration that was presented
by Josh Howell.
• Heard a community progress up-
date from Bobby Brinson with AirEvac
Lifeteam.
• Heard a presentation by Ross Brad-
ley from Guardian EMS on an upcoming
pilot program that would provide free
EKG screenings to high school athletes
in Brown, Coleman and Comanche
Counties.
