The Clarkson Home Demonstration
Club met In the home of Mrs. Gene
lurnett. August 19, at 3:00 p. m. There
vere r.lne members and one visitor
present. House was called to order by
president and business attended *o.
Part of this was sending in suggestions
for next years work and how to make
second programs more Interesting. The
dub's suggestion for that was let each
hostess give some kind of demonstra-
tion of her own at each second meet-
ing.
The meeting was .then turned over
to our program chairman, who took
charge of a clip program in which all
| the members bad a part, and many
» good ideas, hints »nd recipes were ex-
•, changed.
; The hostess then served refresh-
ments of Iced tea, sandwiches and
ccokles.
The next meeting will be with Mrs
Henry Lindsey, September 9, the pro-
gram being on re-upholsterlng.

been spending several days with her

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Jones were Mr. and
Mrs. Claud Rodgers of Houston and
Mr. and Mrs. John Westbrook and
baby of Hearne.

Mrs. Dan Copeland came to Milam
county when Prank was a very small
boy, and he grew up and lived his en-
tire life in the Conoley and Salty com-
munities.
He was married to Miss Ollie Jack-
son, August 18, 1907. and to this couple
four children were born; two boys and
two girls, namely: R. L., who died
when a very small baby, Marvin Cope-
land and Mrs. Tom Van Zandt of
Thorndale, and Mrs. Jim Revelle of
Rockdale,
Frank Joined the Methodist church
at Salty in 1918 and has lived in the
same faith since. Everyone knew
Frank to be a good, honest, hard-work-
ing man, also a good, loving husband
and father. He died suddenly while
taking a few minutes sleep after eat-
ing a hearty dinner, though he had
been in failing hea-lth for several
months,
Besides his griot stricken wife and-
three children, he leaves an aged mo-
ther, and one brother at Cross Plains,
also one grandchild, Patsy Ruth Van
Zandt, of Thorndale.
