Photograph album compiled by 1st Sgt. Oliver Taft Hazelton while he was stationed near the Mexican border containing images of the Texas National Guard activities there. Handwritten text at the start of the album says: "Photographic Views of scenes at and near Mexican Border on Rio Grande River - Ft. Ringgold, Texas during May-Sept. 1916."

Dallas Field Artillery Battery 'A' of Nat'l Guard at Oakcliff (suburb of Dallas, Texas) Oliver Taft Hazelton Honorable Discharge rec'd1916 from U.S. Service in conflict between Pancho Villa's Rebel Forces of Mexico and U.S. Was stationed on Border of Rio Grande River between Matamorous [sic], Mexico & Rio Grande River near Rio Grande City, Texas, U.S.A. Fort Ringgold May 9, 1916-Sept. 25, 1916. One of last servicemen to be discharged because of physical disability in 1916 just before Pres't. Woodrow Wilson declared war with Germany. Employed by Dallas, Tex. as Western Elec. Co. as Bookkeeper & Time Keeper."
