Dora Lee Ozmun, age 75, of
mithville died Tuesday,
'ebruary 5,1991 in Kirby, Texas.
Mrs. Ozmun was born in
lenison, Texas on April 15,1915
tie daughter of Sam and Jessie
fears. She was married to Clif-
ord Ozmun, who preceded her in
leath.
Funeral services were held Fri-
lay, February 8,1991 at 3 p.m. in
he Marrs-Jones Funeral Home
Chapel with Bro. YJ. Jimenez of
he Rosanky Baptist Church of-
iciating. The Eastern Star
uneral service was given by the
Eastern Star Lodge 39 of
Smithville. Mr. Tony Nunez was
he soloist. Interment followed at
Dak Hill Cemetery in Smithville.
She belonged to the Order of the
Eastern Star 39 and the Rebekah
Lodge 180, both of Smithville.
Survivors include one daughter,
Debbie Wilson of Kirby, Texas;
two sons, Donald Ozmun of
Smithville, and David Ozmun of
Star, Texas; two sisters, Benita
Mainz of New Braunsfels, Texas
and Jimmie Bronocco of San An-
tonio; 13 grandchildren and 5
great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Pat Starns,
Dan Priest, Bennie Luck,
Jonothan Wilson, Christopher Oz-
mun and Clifford Ozmun.

Paul Thurman Jones, age 77, of
Bastrop (formerly of Smithville)
died Tuesday, February 6,1991, in
Temple, Texas.
Paul was born in Tyler, Texas
on September 20,1913 to Tom and
Mary Elizabeth Jones. He served
in the U.S. Army during World
War II. After settling in the
Smithville area he worked as a
salesman and office machine
repairman.
Graveside services were held
at Oak Hill Cememtary in
Smithville, at 10 a.m., Friday,
February 8, with Charles
Williams and Carolyn
Greathouse officiating.
He is survived by a host of
friends.

Geraldine H. Kuratko, age 66, of
Smithville, died Tuesday,
February 5,1991 in Austin, Texas.
Mrs. Kuratko was born in
Smithville on March 31, 1924 to
Turner B. and Sallie (Spence)
Hart. Geraldine completed high
school in Smithville and worked
for the telephone company for
many years. She also worked fif-
teen years for the Smithville
Schools. She was a member of the
Eastern Star Lodge 39 and VFW
Auxiliary of Smithville and a
member of the Retired Teachers
Association.
Funeral Services were held
Friday, February 8, at 1 p.m. at
the Marrs-Jones Funeral Home
Chapel. Interment at Oak Hill
Cemetery in Smithville followed.
Rev. Charles Hahn of the First
Methodist Church in Smithville
officiated. Tim Timmons of the
First Baptist Church was the
soloist.
Survivors include her husband,
Louis G. Kuratko of Smithville;
one son, Lt. Col. Louis G. Kuratko
Jr. and daughter-in-law Miae who
are currently stationed in Japan;
her mother, Sallie Hart of
Smithville; a sister, Jo Ann
Newlin of Tyler; a brother, Roy N.
Hart of San Antonio; two grand-
children, Danny Lawrence and
Sallie Kuratko; and numerous
nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Otis
McPhaul, Mark Rogers, Howard
Cantrell, E.R. Broughton, Byron
Foster, Ken Blaschke, Johnny
Janak and Babe Shirocky.

Gregorio Jose (Joe) Garcia,
age 82, of Corpus Christi died
Monday, February 4, 1991 in a
Corpus Christi Hospital.
Mr. Garcia was born in
Smithville, Texas on November
28, 1908, the son of Julian and
Guadalupe (Jinojosa) Garcia.
After leaving the Bastrop Coun-
ty area, he worked as a painter
and retired in the Corpus Chrisi
area.
Rosary was recited Friday,
February 8 at 7 p.m. at the Marrs-
Jones Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Mass was celebrated on
Saturday, February 9 at 10 a.m.,
at St Paul’s Catholic Church in
Smithville, with burial at Powell
Latin Cemetary in Smithville.
Msgr. John Frizelle officiated.
Survivors include four sisters,
Carment Garcia of San Antonio,
Tomasa Luna of San Antonio,
Julia Leal and Comela Domin-
quez both of Mercedes; and one
brother, Narcico Garcia of Col-
orado City, Texas.

9,1991 in Bastrop.
Mrs. Ringer was born in String
Prairie, Texas on October 12,1902,
to Frank and Mary (Lagleder)
Fiebrich.

February 10 at 6 p.m. at the
Marrs-Jones Funeral Home
Chapel in Smithville. Funeral
Mass was celebrated Monday,
February 11 at St. Mary’s
Catholic Church in String Prairie.
Interment followed at St. Mary’s
Church Cemetery. Msgr. Clyde
Holtman was the officiant.
Survivors include two sisters,
Mrs. Alfred Goertz of Rockne and
Freda Hoffman of Bastrop; and
numerous nieces and nephews.

Lonnie Epperson, 41, died Sun-
day, February 3,1991 in Bastrop.
He was born in Fort Campbell,
Kentucky on August 3, 1949 to
Emery and Juanita Epperson.
He married Sally Robinson in
1981 in El Paso.
He had served in Vietnam,
where he was wounded in action.
He had lived in Bastrop for the
past four years.
Survivors include his wife, Sal-
ly Epperson of Bastrop; two
daughters, Lonia Marie Epperson
and Erica Epperson, both of
Bastrop; his father and step-
mother, Emery and Eula Epper-
son of Holdenville, Oklahoma; his
mother and step-father, Juanita
and Glenn Flagan of McKinney,
Texas; four brothers, Mansford
Epperson of New York, Gordon
Epperson of McKinney, Raymond
Epperson of Lawton, Oklahoma,
and Terry Epperson of Duncan,
Oklahoma; and one sister, Lydia
Binion of McKinney.
Funeral services were held to-
day (Thursday) at 1:30p.m. in the
Hudson Funeral Home Chapel,
with Rev. Danny Frazee of-
ficiating. Burial followed in the
Holdenville Cemetery.

ficiating. Interment followed at
