An automobile driven by Earl
Brown overturned when rain was en-
countrcd near Abilene Friday night,
while enroute to Amarillo lo attend
the funeral of a brother. Lester
Brown, who died suddenly whl’r
hunting Friday noon. Three of the
five occupants of the car received
wounds. Mr. Brown and his sister,
Mrs. Henry Beaver, had sealp
wounds necessitating stitches. His
mother, Mrs. Nobia Brown was more
seriously hurt and is still confined
to the hospital. Wednesday. L. L.
Morgan and Bert Brown the other
occupants received minor bruises.
Another car carrying five others of
the party rendered aid. Mrs. C. I.
Hunter, L. L. Morgan and Marie
Brown remained with the injured
while after several hours delay, C. I.
Hunter, Clyde, Lawrence and Bert
Brown proceeded on their sad Jour-
ney.
Amcng those who visited the In-
jured Sunday afternoon at an Abi-
lene hospital were Mr. and Mrs. A.
K. Wesley, Mrs. Earl Brown and
children nnd Mrs. T. A. Burns, ac-
companied by Mr. and Mrs. Neal
Nicholson of Novice. Mr. and Mrs.
A. H. Oliver spent Saturday and
Sunday there. The community
sympathizes with all concerned in
their grief and nnxiety.

and he ran off the pavement, the
mud at the side was tricky and while
trying to regain the pavement the
car struck some grass, swung back
across the pavement and turned
