(UP) — Japanese and Ko-
reans rushed to volunteer for
action against Korean com-
munists today.
Officials were not sure, how-
ever, that volunteer armies
could be trained before the war
in Korea ends.
Civilians, including former
Japanese Kamikaze suicide pil-
ots and soldiers, were applying
throughout Japan to Korean or-
ganizations after the govern-
ment gave volunteers permis-
sion to go abroad to fight.

of a flaming B-50 bomber be-
fore it crashed last night were
rescued from Tampa Bay to-
day but three others known
dead and one missing.
Chatham Air Force Base at
Savannah. Ga.. listed two of
the dead as Capt Laurence E.
Kenny, Jr., and Staff Sgt. Na-
thaniel E. Winfield, radioman,
whose wives live in Savannah.
The name of a third victim was
withheld.
Listed as missing was Capt.
Paul A. Westerhouse. Jr., the
navigator, whose wife lives In
Savannah
Col. Thayer S. Olds. Chief of
Staff of the 307th Bombard-
ment Squadron, said the plane
apparently tried to make a
forced landing. He said the
cause of the fire in the plane
was not known
