Fusca award is given to teams or
individuals who exhibit exceptional
creativity, either through some
aspect of their problem solution,
their behavior, or an extraordinary
idea beyond the problem solution.
While the team didn’t score
enough points to continue in the
competition this year, they learned
a tremendous amount about team
work, acting, and robot construc-
tion. The Odyssey of the Mind
competition was truly a great learn-
ing experience for the students.
This robot created by a team
of Miller inventors recently
won the Ranastra Fusca award
for creativity at the Odyssey of
the Mind competition held at

A Sachse ncighborlxxxl is quiet
again, following a standoff between
police and a man armed with a 30/30
deer rifle.
When the man, despondent over
marital problems, picked up the
rifle, his wife called police.
A nine-hour standoff resulted,
from 3 p.m. until slightly after mid-
night Sunday.
Finally, after much talk between
the man and police representatives,
the man surrendered the rillc, ending
the incident.
