BOB JONES
Jones has been varsity tight end
coach at Judson High School, a
Class AAAAA school with an
enrollment of 3,500 in Judson ISD
in San Antonio since June of 1995.
From June 1994 until June of 1995,
he was assistant linebacker coach at
the same school.
He has a MS in supervision of
physical education from Kearney
State College in Kearney, Neb., in
1985. He earned a BS in physical
education and health from the same
college in 1982.
Jones graduated from Lexington
Senior High School in Lexington,
Neb., in 1977.
Converse-Judson was a Division
I state finalist with a 14-2 record in
1996, Division 1 state champions
with a 14-1 record in 1995, and a
Division 1 semi-finalist for the sev-
enth straight year.
Prior to coaching at Converse-
Judson, Jones coached at Class
AAAAA Terry High School in
Rosenberg from May 1992 to June
1994; at Class AAA A Pleasanton
High School in Pleasanton from
July 1988 to May 1992; at South-
west Baptist University (NCAA
Div. II), Bolivar, Mo. from April
1987 until July 1988; at Class
AAAA Red Oak High School
from June 1986 to April 1987; at
North Dakota State University
(NCAA Division II) from 1985 to
1986.
He also coached as a graduate
assistant at University of Nebras-
ka, Kearney (NCAA Division II),
1983-1985; at Missouri Western
College (NCAA Division II), St.
Joseph, Mo., in 1983; junior varsi-
ty head coach at the University of
Nebraska, Kearney, 1982; and
freshman offensive line coach at
the same school in 1980.
The 1985 North Dakota State
University football team was
NCAA Division II national cham-
pion with an 11-2-1 record.
Jones was lettered three years at
University of Nebraska, Kearney,
and was senior captain of the team.

McDonald
McDonald has coached at Class
AAAAA Rockwall since July,
1995.
He graduated from Southwest-
ern Oklahoma State University in
Weatherford in July of 1985 with a
degree in business education and
an endorsement in physical educa-
tion. He also attended University
of Oklahoma at Norman from
Aug. 1979-1983 as a finance
major.
McDonald graduated from
Dumas High School in 1979,
where he was an All-District Tight
End and an All-Region Catcher.
At Rockwall High School, he is
defensive coordinator, linebackers
coach, and in charge of strength
and conditioning. He is also hed
boys and girls track coach.
From July of 1991 until June of
1995, he was head football coach
and athletic coordinator at Class
AAAAA C'hickasha High School
in Chickasha, Okla.
He was assistant head coach and
offensive coordinator at Chickasha
from June of 1990 until June of
1991.
Before that, he was assistant
head coach and offensive coordi-
nator at Class AAA Blanchard
High School in Blanchard, Okla.
He was chosen Region 5 Athlet-
ic Director of the Year in 1993;
District SA-i Football Coach of
the year in 1992; waa a West All-
St* Coach—KBLP Football Clas-
sic; Region 5—Track Coach of the
Ye* in 1990.
McDonald is married to Paula
and the couple has one daughter.
Wylie first advertised for a new
athletic director and football coach
in December of last ye*.
Currently, the athletic director at
Wylie is Dr. Sam Terry, who is
also the head baseball coach. The
head football coach is Jimmy
Brooks.
The person selected as athletic
director/head football coach is
expected to be allowed to select
the remainder of the coaching
staff.

Corporation, the city’s consulting
engineers, the second alternative
was rejected.
The McMillan surfacing project
may be done by the city at a much
reduced cost.
This project is part of the 1995
Bond program, Phase II. The origi-
nal bond budget was $646,967.

A drawing will be conducted
March 20 to establish the order in
which candidates names will
appear on the ballot. The first day
for voting by personal appearance
is April 15. Early voting is
allowed from 8-5, Monday
through Friday. April 29 is the last
day for early voting by personal
appearance.
The last day a person may regis-
ter in order to be eligible to vote in
the May 3 election is April 3.
To be eligible to run for city
council, the candidate must be a
registered voter of Texas, have
lived within Wylie’s city limits for
at least the 12 months preceding
the election, shall not be delin-
quent on any taxes or other liabili-
ties due the city, cannot file for
more than one position, if elected,
cannot be an employee of the city,
cannot concurrently hold another
elective office with the city, shall
present to the city secretary a peti-
tion signed by 25 eligible voters,
or signed by a number of persons
equal to 1/2 of 1 percent of the
total vote received by all candi-
dates for mayor in the most recent
mayoral general election who are
qualified voters of the city.

ance for the city and school district
will be conducted weekdays begin-
ning April 14 and continue through
April 29 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
On April 24, early voting will be
conducted between 8 a.m. and 7
p.m. Early voting will also be con-
ducted April 26, a Saturday,
between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Thier and a passenger were not
wearing seat bells.
Two vehicles were involved in an
accident on FM 544 new its inter-
section with McCreary Road at 7:20
Feb. 13.
Driving a 1996 Ford Aspice east-
bound was Linda Marie Brooks, 41,
Wylie. Also traveling east was
Choya Dwayne Bwker, 21, of Row-
lett, driving a 1994 Dodge pickup.
When Barker stopped to make a left
turn into a private driveway,
Brooks’ vehicle struck the Bwker
vehicle in the rew. Bwker was cited
for failure to show proof of finan-
cial responsibility.
Barker reported possible non-
incapacitating injuries and was
transported by Central Ambulance
to Columbia Medical Center in
Plano.
Barker was not wearing a seat
belt.. Brooks was wearing a seat
belt and shoulder strap.
Gene Thomas Rogers, 28,
Wylie, was driving southbound on
S. Ballard at about 7 p.m. Feb. 13
in a 1990 Chevrolet Bereua.
Rebecca Lynn Crane was driv-
ing a 1988 Mitsubishi northbound
on the same road at the same time.
As Rogers attempted to turn left
into the fire station, his vehicle
struck the left rew of Crane’s vehi-
cle, which ended up resting against
a tree. All people involved in the
accident were wewing seat belts
with shoulder restraints. No
injuries were reported.
