Wylie FFA boasts wins at County
The Wylie FFA participated in the
Collin County 4-H show on Satur-
day, Oct. 28. Everyone spent lots of
time and effort to prepare their ani-
mals. The day was long and tiring,
and the results were tremendous.
Clara Knoll received second place
with her lightweight Simmental
steer. Shane Thomason received
third place with his mediumweight
Mame-Anjou steer and second place
with his Maine-Anjou heifer.
Kelly Lane received third place
with her lightweight Simmental
steer. Lisa Edgar received first place

Funeral services were held for
Charles Lee Ijames, 77, of Rancho
Cucamonga, California, on Satur-
day, Nov. 4,1995 at 1 p.m. at Allen
Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Ijames
passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 1,
1995 at Baylor Medical Center of
Garland.
He was the son of Charles A. and
Elizabeth (Davis) Ijames, born July
23, 1918 in Mill Spring, Missouri.
He married Veraell Verna (Chilton)
Ijames on Jan. 11, 1942. He had
been employed by Koppers as a
plant manager and was a veteran of
the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include: his wife,
Vemell Verna (Chilton) Ijames of
Rancho Cucamonga, California; one
daughter, Miss Dianne Ijames of
Sachse; two sons, Douglas Ijames of
Sachse and Steve Ijames of Wylie;
one brother, Belvia Ijames of Mis-
souri; one sister, Aileen Orrick of
Missouri; 10 grandchildren and 11
great-grandchildren.
Burial was in Wylie Cemetery
with Allen Funeral Home in charge
of arrangements.

Chef’s Auction to benefit
March of Dimes Foundation
Southfork Ranch will be the scene
of a Chefs Auction benefitting the
North Texas Chapter of the March of
Dimes Birth Defects Foundation on
Thursday, Nov. 16.
Scheduled between 6:30 and 9
p.m., the Chefs Auction will com-
bine a cocktail reception with food
tasting and a live auction, stated
Dave Swain, special events coordi-
nator for the foundation.
Cost of the event is $35 for indi-
viduals and $500 for tables of 10.
Sponsorship prices are $5,000 for
presenting sponsor, $2,500 for gold
patron and $1,000 for silver patron.

All proceeds, Swain said, will
support the North Texas Chapter of
the March of Dimes Birth Defects
Foundation.
The March of Dimes is a national
voluntary health agency that works
to reduce birth defects and infant
mortality though programs of educa-
tion, community service, research
and advocacy.
Music will be provided by the
Collin County Community College
Jazz Orchestra.
