Overall-Morris Hospital at 7:15
a m. Sunday, April 8, 1973. Bur-
ial was in Santa Anna Ceme-
tery Monday after funeral ser-
vices at 4:00 p.m. in First Unit-

| with the Rev. Louis Shambeck,
pastor of the. church, as offic-
iating minister. Henderson Fun-
eral, Home had charge of ar-

Mrs. Taylor, daughter of the
| late Addam Martin and Eliza
Lorella Hensley Walker, was
| born at Pecan Gap Aug. 20,
1890. She was married at Santa
Anna Fob. 24, 1911, to Mr. Tay-
I lor, who passed away in 1954.
A graduate of Howard Payne
| College and a resident of Santa
! Anna sinec 1911, she taught
! school until 1965 when she re-
I tired.
Surviving her are one dau-

of Henrietta; one son, John
Taylor of Santa Anna; two sis-
ters, Mrs. L. B. Clower of Pe-

Mozelle High School Chapter
of Future Homemakers of
America observed National
FHA Week ' April 1-7, having
some special activity each day
of the week.
Sunday, April 1 members and
advisors attended services at St.
Mark's Episcopal Church and
went to Coleman City Park for
a picnic lunch.
, Monday was Color Day and
Freshman Initiation Day, All
members wore red and white,
FHA colors. Tuesday was
Character Day, when all stu-
dents attended school dressed
as well-known personalities.
Wednesday was Assembly Day.
FHA presented the program, a
"Beauty Contest,” with boys
dressed up as girls as contest-
ants. * -
Thursday was “Groaty Cow-
boy” and Clean-Up Day. Then
the week was topped off with
Teacher- Appreciation Day on
Friday when FHA members pre-
sented boxes '6f cookies to
teachers and cooks.1 Saturday
was “Good Deed for the Fam-

Sherman It. Wilkins, 29, of
Little River, son of Arnold J.
Wilkins of Coleman and Mrs,
Alice McBride Wilkins of Mid-
land, "was dead on arrival’ Sat
urday afternoon, April 7, 1973,
at a Temple hospital after a
shooting incident earlier in the
day near Heidenheimer.
Investigating Bell County
Deputy Sheriff Larry Springer
said that Wilkins, found about
5:30 p.m. Saturday in a pickup
truck parked south of Heiden-
heimer, apparently had died
about 5 p.m. of a single gunshot
wound in the chest from a .22
caliber pistol.
Justice of the Peace Joe Har-
rison of Temple was withhold-
ing a ruling in the death pend-
ing results of an autopsy.
The Rev. Archie Phillips, pas-
tor of North . Coleman Baptist
Chyrch, conducted funeral rjtes
this afternoon (Tuesday) at 3:30
in Stevens Memorial Chapel,
with burial following in Leaday
Cemetery.
Born March 18, 1944 in Cole-
man, he lived in Coleman Qoun-
ty until 1963. .He was a truck
driver, a member of the Baptist
Church, and a U.S. Army vete-
ran. <
Surviving him are his wife,
Viola, of Ruling; fong daugh-
ters, Darlene, Rita, Rosa and
Raylene, all of the home; his
parents; foilr, sisters, Mrs. Rosa
Belle Canady of Heidenheimer,
Mrs. Louise Pullen of Enid,
Oklahoma, Mrs. Shirley Croft
of Temple -and. Miss Darlene
Wilkins of Midland; and!three
brothers, Bobby and Gerald of
San Antonio, and Kenneth of
Temple. ’
