Coleman's old City Council
completed its work yesterday
afternoon, and then a new Coun-
cil, with two new members, was
sworn in and presented with
problems, proposals and other
regular business of a routine
meeting.
After the new Council took
oyer Mayor Leach presented to
them a proposal in which the
First Christian Church, through
its real estate agents, offered to
sell their church building and
properly to the City of Coleman,
for a city hall and auditorium,
for $40,000 00. The offer included
the pews in the auditorium, but
excluded the leaded art glass
windows and other church prop-
erty in the building.
The Council referred the pn>
posal to City Manager Albert
Pope for study and reeommenda
tion.
Outgoing members were Del-
ma Johnson and Ralph Elkin,
who attended their last meeting,
then departed with best wishes
for all. Taking over their chairs
