Hospital Adopts ™
Admission Policy
In regular session Monday
night,.December 19, the Board
of Directors of Overall Morris
Memorial Hospital approved
new, stricter admission polir
ie’s, which are effective immed
iatelv:
. During the fiscal year ending
September 30,1977 there was a
total of $54,483.00 charged off
for charity and bad debts.
Approximately 60 percent of
the amount was considered to
be "bad debt s by people able to
pay but who have not paid",
states hospital administrator
Robert Jameson.
‘ The following procedures will
be followed for all routine
admissions:
1. All past due accounts to tie
paid in full. .
2. Proof of acceptable insur
ante or other third party
coverage or evidence of good
credit standing.
3. Proof of eligibility. for
charity.
4. In the absence of the above
requirements the following
schedule will be follow’ed: .
a. A deposit of $100 for each
day of estimated stay or $300
whichever is greater.
h. Proper arrangements
made with the administrator
for payment of the account.
o. Patients having insurance
will be required to pay any
amounts not qualifying for
benefits under their coverage
or will make proper arrange
ments with the administrator
for payment:
o . Accounts not settled as
agreed will be referred to an
outside collection bureau when
7.ri days delinquent.
. Jameson stresses that the
new' admission policies in no.
way affect the policies for
charity, needy and emergency
patients.

license Plate Renewal
Notices In The Mail
AUSTIN License plate
renewal notices for almost 11
million motor vehicles are in U.
S. post offices throughout
Texas for delivery to owners,
beginning Dec. 26,
R. W. Townsley, director of
t’he Motor Vehicle Division,
State Department of Highways
and Public Transportation, said
the renewal notices were
stuffed into envelopes, pre
sorted by zip code, boxed and
delivered to post offices to
expedite delivery. Work to get
the renewal notices ready for
delivery started in early Octo.
her.
The plate renewals for
passenger cars and light trucks
(such as pickups) will be
different from last year, A new
law requires that renew al dates
he spread as equally as possible
over 12 months, rather than
have all expire al one time'
(April 1) each year," Townsley
said.
•Since the Motor Vehicle
Division does not maintain
records by owner's name or
birth date, the license number
of the vehicle has been used to
determine the month of regis
(ration renewal in the future.
Renewal notices have been
issued to reflect the number of
months and the prorated fee to
be paid to register each vehicle
under the new system.
A complete explanation of
the new system is enclosed
with each renewal notice for
passenger cars and light trucks
(one ton or less). It , is
imperative (hat vehicle owners
not lose the registration notice
as it must be presented at the
county tax collection office to
obtain new license plates.
Because of the new system,
registration may take longer
this first year than ever before.
The new law authorizes county
tax assessors collectors to start
processing the renewals a
month early.
Your county lax assessor
'•collector is ready when you
are any time starting wi.n the
county's first work days in
1973.
"Look for your friendly
postman,to bring your license
plate renewal notice shortly
after Christmas," Townsley
said. "Do yourself a favor take
your renewal notice to your
■ county tax office and register
early. You'll be sorry if your
don't."
