Richland' College’s Community Service Department will
offer the course “Holocaust: How and Why”, beginning
Thursday, Sept. 27, 700-880 p.m. through Nov. 15. Purpose
of the course is to acquaint Jews and non-Jews alike with
the events that led to one of the worst episodes of human
history with a view toward the historical conditions in
Europe at the time of this episode, as well as its
ramifications which are still felt today. Resistance in the
Ghetto and the Concentration Camp is examined in
addition to some of the art and poetry of the period.
Special emphasis is placed on the survivor, and what has
happened to him in the last 30 years. It is obvious that the
survivor has affected the world just as the world has
affected him.
