Are you a blue-blooded aris-
tocrat, a red-blooded he-man,
a hot-blooded lover, a cold-
blooded tomatoe, a cross-blood,
a throughbred, blended or
anemic ? ? DO YOU HAVE
BLOOD? Then have a heart
and lend a pint! That is the
cry of Dr. A. I. Goldberg,
chairman of our blood bank

The B’nai B’rith State Con-
ference will be held in San
Antonio at the Gunther Hotel
on Sat. and Sun., March 5th
and 6th. Any of our members
who care to attend will be ap-
pointed as official delegates or
alternates. Reservations must
be made in advance. All of the
brothers who have atttended
these conferences in the past
tell many tales of the good
times they have had. But most
important they all agree that
you really have no idea of the
scope and importance of B’nai
B ’rith activities until you’ve
attended one of these state
conferences. A group of offic-
ers and board members will
be driving down together. If
you care to join them or will
be there on your own Call Er-
ven Rovinsky, VA-3350, this
week-end and make your res-
ervation.

WARBURG TRIBUTE SETS
GIVING PACE FOR UJA
This memorable scene was taken at the testimonial dinner honoring Edward
M. M. Warburg, President of the United Jewish Appeal, Saturday evening,
January 22 at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, which produced an outpouring of
heavily increased gifts totalling 810,150,000. The 1955 campaign will be
officially opened at a National Inaugural Conference Sunday, February 27 in
Miami Beach, Fla., where a duplication of the high giving standard set «t the
Warburg dinner is expected to give the UJA its greatest campaign opening.
Pictured above, left to right, are William Rosenwald, newly elected UJA
General Chairman; Senator Herbert H. Lehman, who acted as toastmaster; Mr.
Warburg, guest of honor; and Paul G. Hoffman, Studebaker-Packard Board
Chairman, who was the principal speaker. The UJA in 1955 has a goal of
close to $100,000,000 to finance the urgent settlement, welfare and rehabilita-
tion programs facing the United Israel Appeal, Joint Distribution Committee
and New York Association for New Americans, UJA constituent agencies.
