AROUND THE TOWN
Selma and Julius Solomon who were married in Fort Worth,
fifty years ago on June 17,1923 were honored the same date at
an anniversary party at the Dunes Hotel in Las Vegas by Mr.
and Mrs. Sherlock Feldman. Mr. Feldman, well known to
ourtowners, is a brother of Mrs. Solomon's, and is manager of
the Dunes Hotel Casino. Among those who attended the
festivities were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rafield, his sister and
brother-in-law; his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Bert Solomon and his brother, Joe Solomon, all of Los
Angeles. Also, Mrs. Jennie Richter, of St. Louis sister of Mrs.
Solomon and their daughter-in-law, Rhoda (Mrs. Leroy)
Solomon of Fort Worth. The Solomons are parents of three
children, Diane (Mrs. Albert) Oberstein and sons, Manny and
Leroy Solomon all of Fort Worth and have six grandchildren.

wedding last Sunday after-
noon at Congregation,
Keneseth Israel, in Allen-
town, Pa. A Friday evening
reception was hosted by the
bride’s mother, Mrs.
Elizabeth Friedman at her
home and a Saturday
morning brunch at the
Sheraton-Allentown was
given by Margie and Norty
Goone, Ruth and Philip
Bernstein, Florence and
Sam Weisblatt, Jennie
Chicotsky and Michelle
Kragen. The Rehearsal
Dinner on Saturday evening
was hosted by the bride-
groom’s father, Bob Kragen,
at the Lehigh Valley Club.

Ruth and Jerry Berkowitz

ceremony was particularly
touching. The bride was
given in marriage by her
mother and among the three
rabbis performing the
ceremony was the bride’s
brother, Rabbi Bob Fried-
man who was just ordained
from the Hebrew Union
pated in his first official
occasion at the wedding of
his sister and Marshall.
Highlight of Ella
Brachman’s recent trip to
Israel with her children,
Madlyn and Lou Barnett
and Faye and Leon
Brachman was the dedica-
tion of the Elias Brachman
Community Center on Kfar
Uriah, a moshav (village)
located near Jerusalem. The
moshav, built on land
purchased by the late Elias
Brachman in 1945, now has
23 different ethnic people
residing there.
New in our town are
former Philadelphians Dr.
and Mrs. Alan Ettinger
(Phyllis) and their six month
old son, who are residing at
5100 Hilldring Place. Our-
towners will miss Bessie and
Charlie Levinson who plan
to become residents of
Reseda, Calif., shortly .
Happy anniversary greet-
ings to Norma and Bob
Greenberg who’ll celebrate
their 35th on July 3rd and
too, Louise and Hugh
Lamensdorf who’ll celebrate
their 15th on the 6th.
Welcome guest at the
home of Miriam and Sheldon
Labovitz, was their 16
month old grandson, Randy
Krumbein of Houston, while
the baby’s parents, Jeanne
and Billy Krumbein spent
three marvelous weeks in
London and Majorica. Fran-
cey and Allan Klotzman
have a visit with relatives in
Ohio on their vacation
schedule. Ruth and Ed
Propper who will tour

during their vacation will
also visit with their

of Dallas are on a motor tour
of the Southern Gulf states.
Corrine 'and Phil Jacobson
have a 12 day vacation tour
to Hawaii on their travel
agenda. Rebecca Victor just
back from Albuquerque,
N.M., where she visited
with her children, Ellen and
Mark Diamond and their
darling daughter, Michelle.
Congratulations due Bobby
Herman, son of Minette and
Joe Herman and Marc
Wolens, son of Sylvia and
Jerry Wolens, recent grad-
uates of University of Texas
Law School. Both are
associated with a Dallas law
firm. Happy anniversary
greetings to Brenda and
Mike Levine of Houston who
celebrated their second on
June 27. Janet and Mickey
Frost and their young
daughter, Karen, will spend
their vacation in Miami.
