50th wedding anniv.
Mr. and Mrs. George B. Price of Burleson will observe their 50th
wedding anniversary with a celebration luncheon at the Five Star
Inn, located on Hwy 35-W in Burleson, on Oct. 8, from 1 p.m. to 3
p.m. Hosting the event is their granddaughter, Thersia, and her hus-
band, Loy Scott '
The Prices were married on Oct. 7, 1938, in Fort Worth. She is the
former Miss Alene Reynolds. Both are natives of Fort Worth. They
had one daughter, Patricia Price Dodd, who is now deceased. They
have two granddaughters, Thersia Dodd Scott of Weatherford and
_ _____ Debbie Dodd of Fort Worth.

Chelly E. Nail exchanged wed-
ding vows with Forrest J. Ott on
Sept. 16, 1988, at 7 p.m., at the
home of the bride’s mother. Rev.
J.C. Kirkland performed the
double-ring ceremony for the
Burleson couple.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Billy R. Nail of
Burleson, and the bridegroom’s
parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ernie
Wilbure of Burleson.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride wore a satin
gown enhanced with lace and
silk flower patterns. The lace
sleeves featured a pattern of
flowers. The gown featured
beads shaped in a diamond at
the waist. The skirt was accented
with layers of silk and adorned
with pearls and beads. A four-
foot-long train cascaded from
the skirt. Her headpiece, featur-
ing a flower pattern with silk
lace, flowed gently from the
three-tier lace veil. The bride car-
ried a bouquet of white and
burgundy flowers enhanced with
gretffieiy with lace embedded in
the bouquet and enhanced with
burgundy lace and love knots.
Serving as maid of honor was
Dawn D. Paramore. She wore a
pink ruffle dress draped with
lace and carried pink ros
Best man was Rusty Smithson.
The bridegroom was attired in a
"Lord West’’ style tuxedo with
tales featuring a silver bow tie
and cummerbund. Other atten-
dants were Courtney Nail, Angela
McKnight, Sally Shaffstall, Eddie
Dodd, and John Casey.
The bride’s mother wore a
brown suit.
Following the ceremony, cake
and punch were served at the
reception. The couple will be
making their home in Joshua.

JUSTIN ROBBINS
Steve and Rhonda Robbins of
Burleson are proud to announce
the birth of a son, Justin
Wade.
He arrived at Huguley Mem-
orial Hospital on Sept. 28, 1988,
at 2:52 p.m.
Justin weighed in at 6 pounds
8 ounces. He was 19% inches
long.
Maternal grandparents are Pat
Bradley of Burleson and Bob
Turner of Mansfield. Mr. and
Mrs. Leroy Robbins Jr. of Ever-
man are the .paternal grand-
parents.
Great-grandparents are Oneida
Surginer of Burleson, Artelia
Mayfield of Everman, and Mr.
and Mrs. A.L Robbins Sr. of
Everman.

June 18, 1988, was the wed-
ding date of Miss Cheryl Allen of
Joshua and Wes Sheffield of
Burleson. «,
Rev. Roy Gee performed the
double-ring ceremony held at
First Baptist Church in Joshua at
7 p.m.
The church was decorated with
one fan candelabra, two seven-
light V-shape candelabras, and
lovely arrangements of white
roses and gladiolas on brass
pedestals. Four stands of green
palm trees and a unity candle
also decorated the altar area.
There were six isle markers of
silk greenery, pew bows, and
candles.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Allen of
Joshua. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy
Sheffield of Burleson are the
bridegroom's parents.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride was lovely in a
Oesigner Alfred Angelo dress
designed by Michele Piccone. A
sheer yoke enhanced the man-
darin neckline and the sheer
sleeves embellished with Venice
lace came to a delicate point at
the hands. The basque waist ter-
minated into a full Castilian train
with a ruffled flounce forming a
bustle at the back topped with a
bow at the center of the train.
The bodice was heavily beaded
and the front of the skirt was en-
hanced with lace medallions and
the hemline was accented with
cameos. The waist-length veil
and blusher were outlined in
handsewn pearls. The veil cas-
caded from a headpiece of
Venice lace floweretts accented
with pearls. The bride wore a
pearl drop necklace which was
also worn in the weddings of her
mother and grandmother. She
carried a cascading bouquet of
white roses, rosebuds, and
stephenotis with streaming white
ribbons.
Attending the bride as maid of
honor was Lori Moore of Joshua
and bridesmaids were Kim
Sharp of Joshua,and Darla Cop-
penger (bride’s cousin) of Dallas.
Each attendant wore a floor-
length pink tafetta moire dress
forming a "V” in the back with a
candy-box bow. The dress featured
a round neckline and puffed cap-
sleeves. The attendants carried
small cascades of pink, mint
green, and dusty blue roses.
Rusty Webb of Burleson served
as best man. Groomsmen were
Paul Abrams and Tommy Brown
of Burleson. Seating guests were
Brian Allen (bride’s brother) and
Kevin Schuman of Joshua.
Flower girl was Mallory Bond,
niece of the bridegroom and
daughter of Paul and Lawanda
Bond of Burleson. She wore a
pink dress designed like the
bride’s attendants’ dresses. A
halo of flowers and ribbons
adorned her hair. Mallory car-
ried a white lace basket and
dropped rose petals.
Ringbearer was Duwayne Sharp,
son of Wayne and Bridgette
Sharp of Joshua. Duwayne rang
a golden bell while entering
the church.
Traditional wedding music was
provided by organist Larry Mar-
tin. Jim Calhoun sang the selec-
tions, "This Is the Day” and "All
of Me.”
For her daughter's wedding,
Mrs. Allen chose a mint green,
street-length dress. Mrs. Shef-
field wore a dusty blue, street-
length dress. The mothers wore
corsages of pink, mint green, and
dusty blue roses.
A reception was held at the
Family-Life Center at First Bap-
tist Church. The bride and
bridegroom’s tables were enhan-
ced with a lattice backdrop ac-
cented with greenery. The bride's
table featured a floral arrange-
ment carrying out the colors of
the wedding.
The three-tier all white wed-
ding cake was decorated with
greeneiy, white roses, and white
votive candles. Punch was served
from a silver punch service. The
bridegroom’s table featured a
silver coffee service and a choco-
late cake topped with chocolate-
dipped strawberries.
Assisting at the bride’s table
were Laura Whitehead, Cindy
Irvin, and Michelle Gee. Lisa
Havens and Lawanda Bond
(bridegroom’s sisters) served
cake at the bridegroom’s table.
Lisa Havens (sister of the
bridegroom) registered the gue-
sts.
Monica Sharp and Justin Bond
handed out wicker baskets of
bird seed. The baskets were ac-
cented with pink flowers.
The bride is a 1984 graduate of
Joshua High School and is em-
ployed with Colonial Savings of
Fort Worth. The bridegroom is a
1983 graduate of Burleson High
School and a graduate of Hill
Junior College. He works for
Texas Utilities in Glen Rose.
Following a honeymoon to San
Antonio, Mr. and Mrs. Sheffield
will be residing in Burleson.

Mr. and Mrs. Bart Martin Sr.
announce the arrival of their son,
Bart Jr. He was bom on Aug. 9,
1988, at Huguley Memorial Hos-
pital, at 1:45 p.m.
Bart Jr. measured 20 inches
long. He weighed in at 8 pounds
9 ounces.
Grandparents welcoming the
baby are Eddie and Louise Mar-
tin of Burleson.
Bart Jr. received "special”
welcomes from brother, Jeremy,
and sister, Megan.
Several aunts, uncles, and
cousins also welcomed the
baby boy.
