Socials of the Omega Delta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi
Sorority were discussed and names of Secret Sisters were
revealed at a salad supper Tuesday evening. May 18 in the
home of Debbie LaBahn, 417 N.W, Hillery
It was announced Ruth Simpson and Pam Walker are tak
ing member-at-large status during the coming year.
The Social Committee announced plans for a "Hawaiian
Luau Swimming Party” to be hosted by Claudette Wynn July
10th; “Fun in the Sun" in August; "Days of Wine and Roses"
in September; “Key to the Haunted House” in October;
"Plenty of Friendship” in November , "Holiday Surprise” in
December; “Rocking in the Golden Year" in January; "Key
To My Heart," February; “Ides of March" in March;
"Golden Key To Friendship" in April; "Founders Day" in
May.
The social committee also reported two children's socials
are planned for Christmas and Easter
Rush season will be launched Aug 28 as “Beginning Day"
in the home of Lanelle Davis and close with an Acceptance
Tea in October
A baby beauty contest is scheduled as the chapter's major
fund-raising event this year and will be under the direction of
Debbie Vassar, ways and means chairman and her commit
tee.
Susan Pinyan, service committee chairman, asked
members to start collecting specified items for Women's
Haven at Christmas Items will be gift wrapped and
delivered personally to the Haven by chapter members
Highlighting Tuesday evening was the presentation of
Rosette Ribbon Awards to the winners of “Best Program of
1981-82 ”
First Place: Susan Pinyan and Debie Vassar with a
memorable program titled "Friendship”; Second Place:
Pam Walker and Nancy Young with an impressionable pro-
gram, “Model Meeting", Third Place: Carol Curlee and
Ruth Simpson with an informative discussion of "Informal
Education."
In revealing names of Secret Sisters, always a suspenseful
event, each member passed her Secret Sisters' gift along at
which time she had to guess who she thought her SS had been
for the past year Some guessed accurately, while others
were "shocked" as the year-long mystery came to an end
New names of Secret Sisters will be drawn for next year
To commemorate the bond of friendship of Omega Delta
members, Renee Caiman and Debie Vassar toasted each
member giving thanks and appreciation for the effect Omega
Delta’s spirit had on them throughout the year
Door prize was won by Kathie Moss
Other members attending, not previously mentioned, were

given an old pair of shoes
representing how they had
been worn-out in duty and
service to the club

gold charm with a small
