The DARE (Drug Abuse Resi-
stance Education) program is being
used now in practically every grade
in the BISD but it's a 17-week course
curriculum focused on the sixth
grade. A question box is a way that
the sixth graders can ask questions of
the DARE Officer while remaining
anonymous at the same time The
Burleson Star thought you might
want to see wliat kinds of questions
your children are asking, and how
they are being answered.
QUESTION: What is the number
one crime besides taking drugs?
ANSWER: Nearly all crimes are
linked to drugs. The biggest of
those crimes are theft and bur-
glary. People need money to buy
drugs. These people feel that they
don't have to work, they can just
steal from those of us who do work,
^jgir, isn't it?
—DARE Officer Randy Hicks.
