Grandparents
honor their
grandchild
«
with donation
A Burleson couple has donated
three more books to the Burleson
Public Library in honor of their
grandchildren.
R.H. and Geneva Rastall are
donating three books in honor of
their grandaughter, 3-year-old So-
phie Hana Rastall of Memphis.Tenn.
R.H. picked out two books—"Fate is
the Hunter" by Ernest K. Gann and
"Sky Truck 2" by Stephen Piercey—
and Geneva picked out "Animalia"
by Graeme Base.
The books R.H. picked out have
to do with his love and life's profes-
sion, flying. He flew with Japan Air-
lines, Pan-American, and Northern
Pacific Transport before retiring. He
even added an inscription to the in-
side cover of "Fate is the Hunter."
"Reading of this book should be
required by law for all airline pilots,
present and future. I cannot imagine
anyone becoming an airline pilot
without using Ernie Gann for a hero,"
R.H. wrote.
Geneva made the first donation
to the library in December of 1989 in
the name of two grandchildren from
Littleton, Colo.—Jeff and Jenni
Johnson. That donation—"Paddle to
the Sea"—was the first of three
Holling Clancy Holling's books that
Rastall donated. She donated two
more—"Songbird" and "Minn of the
Mississippi"—in April in honor of
five other grandchildren—7-year-
old Lara and 5-ycar-old Alina John-
son of Denver, Colo.; and 16-year-
old Julie, 13-year-old Kelly, and 4-
year-old Matthew Johnson of Love-
land, Colo.
The Rastails hope that other
grandparents or family members will
follow their cue and donate books to
the library in honor of loved ones. For
more information on how you can
donate*a book, call the Burleson
Public Library at 295-6131.
