The Reverend Val Sherman of
Corpus Christi presided at the
quarterly conference Sunday at
3:00 p. m. at the Methodist
church. Reports from twelve^
church group were heard
A note of optimism was sound-
ed in the reports. The Sunday-
School enrollment was up 19%
over year ago. It was pointed
out that twelve years ago the
total amount raised by the local
church was $2,595 for the year,;
whereas this year it .will exceed
$26,000. This is a gain of
1000%. ■
In addition to caring for its
local operation expenses, the
church has given liberally for
building new churches , aiding
liie new college to be built in
Alaska, contributing to the
Spanish work Nn this area and
helping the Negro Methodist
Church in Ganado.
Visitors always welcome
