Willow Springs -
Toner Memorial Day
The Willow Springs - Turner
Memorial Day was well
attended, but we missed you.
The Memorial Service was
conducted by the
grandchildren and
great-grandchildren of the
late Jim and Ima Lair. It was a
beautiful tribute to their
grandparents who hod left so
many memories to oil the
family and friends.
As usual,the church grounds
were beautifully mowed and
spotless by our good flrend,
Floyd Greene. The lovely
little white church has new
aluminum screens donated by
Idus Lair and Installed by Edd
Hutchins.
The cemeteries were
beautiful with flowers placed
there by loved ones. Ray and
Ruth Middleton had done their
job well as caretakers. We
appreciate the work given
during the /war by Ollle, Edd,
Estle, Hazel, Arch (Heck),
Josh, Royce and his helpers
that I dont have their names,
Betty and possibly others who
have worked, we thank you.

Church sponsored a Birthday
Dinner at the Green Acres
Nursing Home Wednesday. It
sure was nice. Mrs. Melissa
Murray, Mrs. Modb McMillan,
Mrs. Furrell Johnson, Mrs.
Florene McMillan, Mrs. Ardls
Murray and Viola Perkins
were the ladles that served
the food. Mrs. Furrell
Jonhnson and Mrs. Dollle
Hobbs baked the cakes. They
sure were good. They served
punch and cake. The ones
that hod Birthdays were Mrs.
Doris WHIIs, Mr, B. Brown, Mr.
Doyle HlUf and Mrs. Pearl
Unebough. They had a
beautiful birthday cake.
Mrs. Hallle Mae Is In the rest
home. She looks real good.
Also, I sow Mrs. Connie Bane.
She sure looked well. She sold
she was doing very well.
We song Happy Blrthdoy to
the ones that hod birthdays,
and wished them many more.
I saw Connie's daughter,
Betty.
The Goodson Family Reunion
will celebrate their t*2nd
Anniversary on June 1, 1986 In
buiphur Springs, fexas.
The Mole Chorus sponsored a
musical at the Prairie Grove
Baptist Church Saturday
night. Also Invited were the
Community Church from
Sulphur Springs, Ihe Church of
God In Christ from
Jacksonville and the
Independent Church from
Sand Field.
We sure had a big rain
Saturday night. The Lord
always knows what we need.
Mrs. Ardls Murray spent the
night with me. We sure hod o
nice time watching wrestling.
1 always enjoy her visits.
I called my former
sister-in-law, Mrs. Annie
Jockson. She pops corn every
Saturday night to eot during
the wrestling. We sure hove o
good visit over the phone.
Mrs. Lucille Snells called me
Saturday to see how 1 was
feeling. I had a very sick spell
Friday, but I am feeling better.
Thank the Lord.
Mrs. Mattie Harvey took
Jodie and me out to dinner
Sunday. We went to Mlneota
to Grandma's Chicken Cafe. It
sure was nice and I sure
enjoyed It,
Mrs. Melissa Murray's sister,
Anno Mae, come from
Hawkins and went with her to
Sulphur Springs for their
Homecoming Reunion,
It looks like we are going to
have some more rain. It sure
makes the grass grow. It has
to be mowed every week. I
have a nice young man to
mow my yard, Mr. Clifford
Harris. He sure does It good.
Mrs. Ardls Murray spent the
night with me Sunday night. I
sure enjoyed lier visit with me.
Thanks to her.
God bless all the sick and
shut-ins.

They are all from Dallas.

Mr. Johnnie Ford, son of Cad
ond Ottle Ford was born May 6,
1901 In HopkIns County In the
Community of Sondfleld. He
attended school In Como. He
confessed Christ at an early
age. He met and married
Elleory Sims. To this union
four children were bornj
Bernice Brown, Dorthy
Thomas, Foy Reon Thomas
and J. C. Ford. His wife
preceded him In death. He
later married Mrs. Janie Gray.
He leaves to mourn his
passing his lovely wife, four
children, one brother, A. V.
Ford of Hobord, Oklahoma}
one sister, Jeffle Lowe of
Sulphur Springs, and one
step-daughter of Amarillo,
Texes) also a host of nieces,
nephews ond other relatives
ond friends.
The Eulogy was given by
Elder Ralph Williams.
Tapp Funeral Home was In
charge of arrangements.

Henry took Georgia brim
fishing this week. She said if
anyone has gone with him
fishing, you will understand
what she has to say about it
The two of them got in the boat
and made their way to the
fishing spot and he tied his end
of the boat to the good place to
fish and she had to fish out the
hack of the boal and about the
time she would get a bite, her
end of the boat would float
around and she would lose her
place If he wasn’t catching on
and she was. he decided it was
time to move, and the worst
thing he did was to tell her she
had to be quiet Georgia said
that did it Other than that they
had a good time.
Juandell Weddle celebrated
her birthday this past week. I
don't know how many years
though.
When we lost Uncle Perk
last week we lost someone so
special He was a wonderful
person, so good to all the chil-
dren and grandchildren. Since
I lost my dad so long ago he
was like my second daddy.
The new pi//.a place will he
opening for business Monday
Sure hope they do good
