Monday, March 9 The light shaded area is the existing jail, the dark
shaded areas are current spaces converted to other uses, and the
unshaded area represents the new addition.

RAINS COUNTY
SHERIFF’S REPORT
The following reports were taken
by the Rains County Sheriff’s Of-
fice from March 2nd through March
8th:
3-2: Theft occurred at a station in
Emory. It was reported that a white
male got $3.00 in gas and drove off
without paying.
3-2: Reckless driving occurred on
SH 19 S. It was reported that a dri-
ver of a red 4X4 vehicle attempted
to run a motorist off the highway,
and then attempted to block the
road.
3-4: Theft occurred at the Rains
School. It was reported that two ju-
veniles stole a wallet and cashed a
fifty dollar check.
3-4: Theft occurred on FM 779. It
was reported that a tool box was
stolen out of the bed of a pickup,
valued at over $500.
3-4: Burglary of a habitation oc-
curred in the Sandy Shore Estate on
Lake Tawakoni. It was reported that
a TV, VCR, video game and cable
box were stolen.
3-4: Assault occurred at the Rains
School. It was reported that a stu-
dent was kicked in the ribs by an-
other student.
3-5: Criminal mischief occurred
on CR 2110. It was reported that a
mailbox was damaged.
3-5: Assault occurred at the stor-
age building on SH 19 N. A female
reported being hit about the face
and chest by a male subject
3-6: Burglary of habitation and
travel trailer occurred at a residence
on SH 19 N. No items could be
found missing from the house, but
fishing equipment was taken from
the trailer.
3-7: Aggravated assault with a
deadly weapon occurred at a resi-
dence on Planters Street in Emory.
It was reported that a male subject
was shot several times.
3-8: Burglary of a vehicle oc-
curred at the Bent Tree Motel It
was reported that eight boats were
burglarized and about Sl^.tNNi in
fishing equipment stolen
3-8: Burglary of habitation oc-
curred on CR 3419. between Feb

that a microwave, cordless phone,
answering machine and one rifle
were stolen.
3-8: Theft occurred at a business
in Hogansville. It was reported that
$5.00 worth of gas was taken with-
out being paid for.
Officers responded to 40 calls be-
tween March 1 and March 8th.
ARRESTS:
3-2: East Tawakoni, issuance ol
bad check, $262.02 fine.
3-2: Display of harmful material
to a minor, $3,000 bond.
3-2: Indecency with a child.
$3,000 bond.
3-3: Van Zandt County motion to
revoke burglary of a motor vehicle.
$20,000 bond: Van Zandt County
adjudicate guilt revoke, $25,000
bond; Van Zandt County revoke
community supervision, no bond;
Wills Point, assault by contact,
$500 bond; Wills Point, traffic war-
rants, four counts, $1,700 bonds.
3-5: East Tawakoni, capias pro
fine, four counts, $1,241.69 fine.
3-6: District court order sentence,
no bond.
3-6: Terrell PD. forgery by pass-
ing, two counts, two $ lO.tKK) bonds.
3-7: Public intoxication, $246.25
fine.
3-7: Aggravated assault with
deadly weapon, $30,000 bond.
3-7: Public intoxication, $246.25
fine; no liability insurance, $500 PR
bond; failure to signal, $85 fine
