RAINS HIGH SCHOOL CYBERSPACE PIONEERS -
The Rains High School web-mastering class celebrated
the completion of phase I of the Rains County website

The week prior to prom night, the
student council held activities to
help motivate students not to "drink
and drive” after the prom.
The prom started at 8:00 p.nv in
the ballroom of the Sheraton Hotel
and lasted until midnight Many
decorations were added to provide
an elegant effect. The colors of the
room were black and gold. Orna-
ments. such as gold sheer gossamer,
little trees with white lights, and
bubbles made by a machine, filled
the room. The tables were deco-
rated w ith large clear bowls that had
marbles and floating, golden rose
candles in the middle. Wine glasses
and glass mugs were filled with
candv is a inomento, and memory
books and a photo album were
given to each person. The dance
floor was in the middle of the room,
and in front of it, a large screen had
been placed on which videos and
senior pictures were shown while
the music was playing. Karen
Young provided many of the deco-
rations. along with the picture back-
drop.
Outside the ballroom, was a large
table tilled with an abundance of
delicious food such as chocolate-
covered strawberries, finger sand-
wiches, meat trays, vegetable trays,
and much more. In the center of the
food table was a beautiful ice sculp-
ture. Charlie Price, a professional
photographer, was available just
outside the ballroom to take prom
pictures.
During the night, 83 door prizes
were handed out. Among the larger
ones were a TV, VCR, an answering
machine, a phone, a boom box, and
a portable C D. player. Those who
donated prizes were: Terry's Furni-
