released the following information
on Lake Fork and Lake Tawakoni.

corded during the week.

the week.
LAKE FORK: Water fairly
clear, 87 degrees; black bass up to
eight pounds are fair on Chug Bugs
and Zara Spooks fished early in the
mornings. There are still some larg-
er fish showing on the main lake
area taking Carolina-rigged green
caterpillar Stud Fries and also on
Rinky Dinks and Little Georges.
Night fishing has been good ' on
black spinners and an eight inch
Texas-rigged black worm fished in
shallow water. Crappie are fair on
live minnows and white crappie jigs
fished over baited brush piles; no
report for catfish.
LAKE TAWAKONI: Water fair-
ly clear; black bass up to five
pounds are fair on ring worms and
centipedes fished in four to ten feet
of water. Topwaters in chrome pat-
ters are also taking fish here early
and late. Striped bass are fair to
good on live bait and on topwaters.
White bass arc good on spoons and
live bait mixed with the stripers; no
report for catfish.

should be placed on the left of the
speaker or to the right of the audi
ence.
When the flag is displayed hori
zontally or vertically against a wall,
the stars should be uppermost and at
the observer’s left.
When used to cover a casket, the
flag should be placed so that the
union is at the head and over the left
shoulder. It should not be lowered
into the grave nor touch the ground.

sales for first
quarter of 1997
John Sharp, Comptroller of
Public Accounts, has released the
First Quarter 1997 State Sales and
Use Tax Analysis Report. In it,
Rains County is reported to have 90
reporting outlets in the 1997 first
quarter for the retail trade division,
as compared to 99 in the 1996 first
quarter, with gross sales of
$7,531,861 as compared to
$7,634,526 in 1996, down 1.3%.
Use Tax Purchases totaled $81,443,-

PUBLIC NOTICE
Rains County will use the following
rules and procedures to comply with its
responsibility under the Indigent Health
Care and Treatment Act.
Applications can be requested from/at
County Judge's office. Assistance in com-
pleting the application will be provided if
needed. Contact Deborah Vandeventer for
assistance.
Rains County will use rules and proce-
dures found in the County Indigent Health
Care Program Handbook published by the
Texas Department of Human Services. In
summary, these are the rules:
1. Application forms must be com-
pletely filled out.
2. Verification of income, termination
of income, residence, household composi-
tion, and resources is required if question-
able.
3. Net income cannot exceed County
lnpjppnt Carp Program Maximum .
Countable Income Standards (see chart
below).
4. Liquid resources assets cannot
exceeo'iiOOu. The equity value of a car
greater than $1500 is counted against
the $1000 limit. Personal property and
homestead are exempt assets.
5. Eligible persons must be residents of
Rains County.
6. Applicants must provide all informa-
tion and documentation requested or
application will be denied.
7. Applicants have the right to appeal
adverse decisions.
