The JV Wildcats squared off
against the Quinlan Panthers
on Monday, Feb. 27th, at Pan-
ther Park for a close, exciting
game. Michael Taylor started
on the mound for the ’Cats,
pitching three innings and al-
lowing only one hit with four
strike-outs.
Up 2-1 in the 4th, Wildcat
pitcher Keith Wallace comes to
the mound. ’Cats maintained
their 2-1 lead until bottom of th
7th when the Panthers con-
nected with a triple, double and
a single taking the game from
the ’Cats 4-3.
Hits for the ’Cats were:
Smith, S&DB; Kody Wallace,
2DB w/1 RBI; Stewart, DB

opened with a 2-0 loss to
Winona. Rains was idle on Fri-
day due to a forfeit by Cooper.
The forfeit officially goes in
the record books as a 7-0 win
for Rains. The Cats then de-
feated Quitman 7-2 with an im-
pressive 12 hit performance.
Brady Davenport went the dis-
tance to pick up his first varsity
win. He was backed up by sol-
id defense, including some out-
standing catches by Jesse
Hyatt. Brady and Jesse both
earned All-Tournament hon-
ors.
