Rob’s good lesson was from
Ephesians titled “Wholly Holy”
was really enjoyed. We still
missed our absent ones. There
were no birthdays or anniversary
celebrants. We were blessed by
Ren6e Hudgins’ special so beau-
tifully done before Bro. David
brought his good message titled
“Who Do You Say That 1 Am?”
from Mark. A very inspiring ser-
mon.
We enjoyed Wednesday night
worship. Bro. David spoke on
“The Power of The Word and
The King” from Psalms. We hope
we will have more in attendance
Wednesday nights to receive the
blessings of those good worship
messages from Bro. David.
The beautiful rose-breasted
grosbeak visited us last week.
He must have just been passing
through as he was only here
the one day. Such a beautiful
bird, black and white with rose
bib and rose wing linings with
a white belly and white wing
patches. Wish he would have
stayed longer!
We appreciate your prayers.

Matt. 15:14
Christ, speaking to those around Him, said, “But seek ye
first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these
things shall be added unto you” (Matt. 6:331. Christ was telling
them that they should always put God’s kingdom first above all
things on this earth.
The majority of people of this earth are not interested in
doing this. One reason is that people are just too busy trying to
accumulate worldly things and too busy entertaiining them-
selves and being entertained. The pleasures of this life are
more important to them.
The wise man Solomon had this problem. In the book of
Ecclesiastes we read his words: “I made me great works, I
builded me houses, I planted me vineyards, I made me gar-
dens and orchards, I planted trees in them of all kinds of fruit,
I made me pools of water to water therewith the wood that
bringeth forth trees, I got me servants and maidens and had
servants born in my houses, also I had great possessions of
great and small cattle above all that were in Jerusalem before
me* He goes on to tell of other things he accumulated and he
said, “And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them,
I withheld not my heart from any joy, for my heart rejoiced in all
my labour and this was my portion of all my labour.” Doesn’t
this sound like us today?
And then he said, “Then I looked on all the works that my
hands had wrought and on the labour that I had laboured to do:
and behold all was vanity and vexation of spirit (a striving after
wind) and there was no profit under the sun.”
Solomon came to himself, he finally realized that there
were other things more important than worldly possessions
and the pleasures of this life. He realized that serving God was
the most important thing a person can do in this life. To sum it
up, he said, “Fear God and keep his commandments, for this
Do you fear God? Are you keeping His commandments?
Are you trying to keep His commandments? Do you know what
His commandments are? Would you like to know what His
commandments are?
I would urge you to do as Christ has said, “Seek ye first the
kingdom of God.” But I would also urge you to be aware of false
teachers because you could become a BUND FOLLOWER
OF BLIND LEADERS.

Go with God, praise his
name!
By Margaret Molidor
Brother Wayne preached from
Nehemiah Sunday morning. It
was a good message about what
the Sabbath should mean to us.
We have been blessed with
beautiful weather. We are so
thankful that the storms have
missed us. We remember those
who have lost their homes and
loved ones. It is a blessing to see
people who have lost so much
still give God the praise that he
deserves.
Saturday before the Founder’s
Day parade, Olene Preslar and
Dollie Trumble were recognized
with a proclamation proclaiming
May 3rd, 2008, as Olene Preslar
and Dollie Trumble day. They
each were also presented with
a bouquet of beautiful flowers.

Country Baptist Church
by Donna Boughton
We began our Sunday school
hour with a song, short devo-
tional and prayer led by Bobby,
then headed to our classes.
Donna and the young people
enjoyed learning about the Holy
Spirit and how it worked in the
lives of Peter and Dorcas. The
title of their lesson was “The
Holy Spirit Helps Us Help
Others.”
“Christianity is Not For
Wimps!” was the title of the
lesson in the adult class as we
looked at the lives of John the
Baptist and the Apostle Paul.
Worship services began with
lively music from the guitar of
Roger Fortner and the piano.
We sang an opening hymn,
and then Bobby called for this
week’s prayer petitions. Please
pray for Eva Bowers, Amanda
Burk, Donna Boughton and
Billy Fisher. Continue to pray
for Diann Baron who is still in
need of surgery.
After prayer requests were
taken, we had the opportunity
to share praise reports. Traci
Suits’ improving health, Landon
Elliott’s successful surgery and
continued progress, the delight-
ful time our ladies had at the
Woosley Annual Women’s Salad
Supper and the joyful appre-
ciation that God once again
protected us and those in and
around Canton from harm dur-
ing the storms were all reasons
to rejoice.
Our music continued, without
any birthdays or anniversaries
to celebrate. We were blessed
with a special from Roger and
JoAnn before Bro. Mike brought
the message titled “Saturated In
Truth” and focused on our need
to get into God’s word so that the
truth might be revealed to us.
Next week is Mother’s Day.
Nothing could please your
mother more than being in the
house of the Lord. If your Mom
is alive, take the opportunity to
spend time with her and tell her
how much she has blessed you.
If your mom is no longer alive,
dwell on the influence she had
upon you and share that influ-
ence with someone else. Ladies,
you are like flowers that appear
in various places. Bloom where
you are planted so others may
see your beauty and be reminded
of how much God loves them.
Our church will honor our moth-
ers with a small tribute. Come
and be a part of those services.
In closing, please let me give
another tribute to the ladies and
their husbands of the Woosley
Baptist Church. Once again their
program and salad supper was a
wonderful occasion to feel pam-
pered, loved, appreciated and
blessed. We laughed, we cried,
we sang, we played and when
it was over, we prayed as God’s
Spirit moved in each of our lives.
You blessed us once again.

We were very happy that Mrs.
Brigitte Jackson was able to
resume teaching the ladies’ Bible
study last Wednesday evening.
She has had laryngitis for the last
two weeks. Bro. Jerry Jackson
Jr. our pastor, leads the men’s
Bible study. The men are having
a great time in their study. Bro.
Jerry brings a very short message
following the Bible studies. This
format is working very well. We

Our Sunday morning services
were exciting. We had a fam-
ily of four join our church. The
ladies saing the special before
Bro. Jerry’s message titled, “Just
Help” from Luke.
In the evening service the
Jackson children, Ashlen, Duane
and Savannah, sang the special.
We were blessed to have a mis-
sionary from the Philippines,
Bro. Eli, share his ministry, bring
a message from God’s Word, and
then sing a special.
Saturday was our birthday/
anniversary fellowship. There
were a number of honorees pres-
ent and a lot of food.
Our ladies’ seminar will be
this Saturday and will begin
about 8:00 a.m. with breakfast.
The noon meal will be provided.
Some of our men have volun-
teered to clean up after lunch.
We appreciate their thoughtful-
ness. Please contact Brigitte

Mother’s Day is Sunday.
Remember to honor your mother
on her special day. Also, we have
a special treat coming up Sunday
evening. Bro. Jonathan Aparre,
our missionary to the Philip-
pines, will be with us to give an
update on the work being done
there.
Our young people are look-
ing forward to hearing special
speaker, Alba-Golden High
School Principal, Michael Mize
on Friday, May 23. Other young
people are invited to attend this
fun-filled event.
It has something to do with
a science lab. Certainly sounds
interesting. *
Last week’s trivia: Who tried
to kill David with a javelin?
Jonathan was the answer. This
week’s trivia: After Samson’s
hair was cut, what injury was
done to him?
Have a blessed week!
Our prayer list keeps get-
ting longer. Sunday we added
Barbara Jaggers, Victoria Pierce,
and Sonny Hines. Please pray for
all those on our prayer list and
our church, and pastor, Bro. Joe
and Annette.
Blessings everyone.
