Graveside services for Audie B.
Marlar, 68, of Lone Oak were held
at Yantis Cemetery at I p.m. Thurs-
day, January 6, with Robert Cook
officiating.
Marlar died Tuesday, January 4,
at Presbyterian Hospital of Green-
ville.
Marlar was born in Powderly on
February 26, 1932, to Claude and
Margaret Pennington Lindsey Mar-
lar worked in accounting and was of
the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one daughter,
Lynn Norman of Mesquite; one
brother, Dewayne Lindsey of Cali-
fornia; one sister, Jean Lusk of
Mesquite; two grandchildren; and
four great-grandchildren.
Marlar was preceded in death by
parents; one son, James McAfee;
and one brother, James Lindsey.

He is survived by parents, Jack

“Burch” Burchett of Sulphur
Springs were held at 2 p.m.
Monday, * January 10, at Point
Methodist Church with Rev. Heidi
Rice officiating. Burial followed in
Lonesiar Cemetery.
Mr. Burchett died Saturday,
January 8, 2000, in Sulphur
Springs.
He was born December 10, 1908,
in Altoga to George and Verne
Parsons Burchett.
He retired from Sears in 1972,
and was a Worshipful Master in the
Masonic Lodge, Conch #1260 from
December 4, 1936, until his death.
He was also a member of the
Eastern Star, a Methodist, and a
longtime resident of Oak Cliff.
He is survived by sister and
brother in-law, Geneva Burchett
Carter and O.M. Carter, both of
Mineola; numerous nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his
wife, Freddie Burchett in 1988; and
brother, Winfred Burchett.
Vivian Colley

Services for Vivian Colley, 82, of
Chandler were held at 4:00 p m.
Sunday at the Eubank Funeral
Home Chapel in Canton with Rev.
Louie Barron officiating.
Burial followed in Edom
Cemetery with her grandsons as
pallbearers.
Mrs. Colley died January 7 in
Chandler.
She was born May 3, 1917, in
Van Zandt County to the late Harris
and Oilie Fulgham Brantley. She
grew up in the Edom area and
worked for Brownsboro Independ-
ent School District for a number of
years. She was a member of the
Calvary Baptist Church of Browns-
bbro.
‘ Survivors include her sons, James
Colley of Ben Wheeler, Bobby
Colley of Sulphur Springs, and
Larry Colley of Bishop; daughters,
Shirley Gibbs of Monahans,
Marilyn Smith of Murchison,
Arietta Inman of Point, Mollie
Campbell of Timpson, Glenda
Bearden and Marsha Stephens both
of Brownsboro; brothers, Morris
Brantley and Shirley Brantley, both
of Edom; 29 grandchildren; 30
great-grandchildren; and several
nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her
husband James Vardaman Colley, in
1998, and sister, Fairy Palmer in
1963.

Funeral services for Harold D.
Foreman, 68, of Lone Oak were
held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 9,
at the Herschel LyBrand Chapel
with Rev. Harry 0. Ball and James
Hogue officiating. Burial was in
Memotyland Memorial Park in
Greenville.
He died Friday, January 7, in
Lone Oak.
He was born December 20, 1931,
in Wills Point and graduated from
Wills Point High School in 1950
and later from Texas University in
Austin. Mr. Foreman was a veteran
of the Korean War, serving in the
U.S. Navy. He retired from the
Benbrook Water Department with
22 years of service.
Mr. Foreman moved to Lone Oak
in 1980 and continued his civil
engineering service in many of the
surrounding areas. He was a mem-
ber and founder of the First
Assembly of God Church in
Quinlan.
Surviving are his wife, Peggy
Foreman of Lone Oak; mother,
Willie Fay Foreman of Wills Point;
three sons, Steven Wayne Foreman
of Tyler, Jess Allen Foreman of
Lone Oak, and Jon Bradley
Foreman of Mesquite; five daugh-
ters, Terrie Sue Aune of Coppell,
Nancy Lynn Foreman of Austin,
Deena Foreman Dunlap of Lone
Oak, Sherry Chumley of Mesquite
and Sandra Kay Perkins of Lone
Oak; brother, James Foreman of
Wills Point; sister, Daphine
McDonald of Mesquite; 12 grand-
children and two great-grandchil-
dren.

Mary Box
1894 - 2000
Mary Box lived a loving life in
three centuries. Bom January 29,
1894, on a farm in Dewitt County,
Texas, to T.J. Haynes and Alma
Niemeier Haynes, she was to be
106 years old this month. She
enjoyed excellent health for her age
and was mentally alert until she
passed on suddenly and peacefully
on Sunday, January 2, 2000.
Miss Mary Haynes married E.O.
Box in 1913 and together they had
three sons; E.O. Jr., Vinson (who
died at age 9), and Hal. Her hus-
band died at the age of 88.
Mary was a teacher of Home
Economics and loved the crafts she
taught. She taught at Emory High
School from September 1947 thru
May 1954. She loved to cook, and,
when over a hundred years old, still
cooked weekly family dinners with
homemade breads, pies and cakes.
She lived by herself until over
100. At 105, she could still memo-
rize a few lines of poetry or scrip-
ture each night to present to the res-
idents at Buckner Villas each morn-
ing. She carefully watched every
University of Texas Longhorn foot-
ball game and considered many of
the players her friends.
She was a dedicated member of
the First Baptist Church in
Commerce where she taught the
women’s Sunday school class for
many years.
She is survived by a half-sister,
Iva Blohm; two sons; E.O. Box, Jr.,
a retired research chemist and pho-
tographer, Hal Box, former Dean,
University of Texas School of
Architecture; daughter-in-law, Eden
Box; five grandchildren, Elgene
Owen Box, Diane Elizabeth Box,
Richard Bruce Box, Kenneth
William Box, Gregory Vinson Box;
two step-grandchildren, William
Dodson Johnson, Kate Van Zandt
Johnson Youman; five great-grand-
children, Amelia Montllor Box,
Elena Montllor Box, Thomas Van
Zandt Johnson, Haley Alexandra
Youman, and Hannah Minton
Youman; and many nieces and
nephews.
Rev. Julius Stagner conducted the
graveside service at the Edgewood
Cemetery in Lancaster at 2:00 p.m.
Saturday, January 8, 2000.

lock, 48, of Somerville, formerly of

Funeral Home Chapel of the
Chimes in Quitman with Rev. Fred
Morrow officiating.
Burial was in Myrtle Springs
Cemetery in Wood County.
Mr. Blalock died Sunday, January
2, in Bryan.
He was bom October 5, 1951, in
Wood County to the late Orville and
Virginia Blalock. He was a con-
struction worker.
Survivors include wife, Diana
Blalock of Somerville; son, Chase
Garcia of Sulphur Springs; daugh-
ters, Erin Blalock of Houston and
Shanna Blalock of Sulphur Springs;
brothers, Bob Blalock of Como and
Michael Blalock of Tom Bean; sis-
ters, Barbara Deaton of Winnsboro,
Nelda Doss of Sulphur Springs,
Sharon Gray of Lake Fork and
Carolynn Peterson of Tyler; and one
grandchild.
He was preceded in death by sis-
ter, Diana Blalock; and sister-in-
law, Wanda Blalock.
Pallbearers included David
Maples, Rex Johnson, Danny
Wilson, Mark Friddle, David Ator
and Mahlon Ator.

Nall. He was a
United States Army veteran and
served during World War II He was
also a prisoner of war. He was a
Baptist minister.
Survivors include his twin
daughters, Patricia Ann Silbaugh of
Wylie and Mary Elaine Bay of
Emory; sister, Billie Williams of
Wolfe City; five grandchildren,
Angela Kay Armstrong. Clayton
Allen Martin, Carrie Annette Bay,
Nathan Alan Bay and Jessie Aaron
Bay; and two great-grandchildren,
Lauren Taylor Armstrong and
Walker Armstrong.

Graveside services for William
D. -Bill” Yarborough, 78, of West
Columbia, S.C., will be held at 11
a.m. Wednesday, January 12, at
Southland Memorial Gardens with
Rev. Steve Kittrell officiating.
Mr. Yarborough died Monday,
January 10, 2000.
He was bom in Bonanza to the
late Minnie Mae Fitzgerald and
William E. Yarborough. He retired
from the United States Air Force in
1967 after 26 years, serving his
country during World War II, the
Korean Conflict and the Vietnam
War.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth E.
Yarborough; son, William Michael
“Mike” Yarborough; daughter,
Valerie Lever; and sister, Durene
Wyatt; five grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his
son, Timothy T. Yarborough; broth-
er, Pat Yarborough, and sister, Wan-
da Asbill.
Pallbearers will be Ken Walker,
Tim Lever, Kenny Strickland, Roy
Thrailkill, Bodie Yarborough, Ray
Garnett and Randy Garnett.

American Heart Association.

Dunavin, 55, of Yantis were held at
2 p.m. Friday, January 7, in Mur-
ray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with
Rev. Arlis Banks officiating.
Interment followed in Seymore
Cemetery with Donnie Dunavin,
Marvin Chutney, Billy Burnett, Ver-
non Ray, Danny Hammond, David
Gurley, Paul Starrett, Danny Wilson
and Don McAfee serving as pall-
bearers.
Mr. Dunavin died at his residence
Wednesday, January 5, 2000.
He was bom on May 5, 1944, in
Yantis to Merritt and Louise
Burnett Dunavin.
He married Gisela Seyfarth on
January 20, 1965, in Mountain
Home, Idaho. She survives.
Mr. Dunavin was of the Baptist
faith, a member of the Plumbers
and Pipefitter’s Local 271 in El
Paso, and was a welder by tiade. He
served in the Air Force.
Survivors include his mother of
Yantis; two sons, Bill Rush of
Ovilla and Michael of Pensacola,
Fla.; two daughters, Casey Taylor of
Simpsonville and Stacey Smith of
North Richland Hills; two brothers.
Jack Dunavin of Yantis and Audie
Dunavin of Como; and six grand-
children, Robert Rush, Steven
Rush, Mishea Thompson, Meagan
Porterfield, Kristalynn Rush and
Chris Walch.
He was preceded in death by his
father and one brother, Stanley
Dunavin.

Alba under the direction of Wilson

Mr. Wright died Saturday morn-
ing, January 8, 2000, at ETMC-
Wood County Hospital in Quitman.
He was bom December 31, 1904,
in Rains County. Mr. Wright lived
in Dallas from 1951-1975. He lived
the rest of his life in Alba. He<
retired from the city of Dallas in
1970 where he was a depot switch-
er for the City of Dallas Water
Department. He was affiliated with
the Salem Church of Christ of Alba.
He is survived by daughters,
Peggy Wright Pope of Alba, and
Geraldine Koger of Mesquite; two
grandsons and one granddaughter-
in-law, Curt Koger, and Scott and
Lana Koger all of Mesquite; one
great-grandson, Scott Koger, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, Henry and Janie Milliom
Wright; 22 brothers and sisters, and
two grandsons. His wife, Beulah V.
Wright, preceded him in death in
1974.

ville, died Thursday, January 6,
2000, at Greenville Health and
Rehabilitation Center. Funeral ser-
vices were at 2 p.m. Saturday,
January 8th, at Peters Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Michael A.
House officiating Burial was in
Forest Park Cemetery.
Daughter of David Martin Mar-
row and Janie Blood worth, she was
bom January 21, 1909. in Lone
Oak. She married Charlie M.
Freeman on December 22, 1935, in
Greenville. Mrs. Freeman was a
homemaker. She was a member of
First United Methodist Church in
Commerce and the Susannah
Sunday school class.
She is survived by niece Lugene
Robertson of Greenville; in-laws,
Ralph and Mary S. Skinner,
Herbert and Mary Lois Freeman,
Louise Freeman Smithey, and
Rachel Freeman all of Greenville,
Billy Tom and Beverly Freeman of
Yantis, and several nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by her
husband on April 25, 1981, and a
sister, Eva Morrison.
Nephews served as pallbearers.

January 10, 2000, at Eubank Chapel

Burial was in Haven of Memories
Memorial Park of Canton, under
the direction of Eubank Funeral
Home, Canton.
Rev. Raymond died Friday,
January 7, 2000, in Tyler after a
short illness.
He was bom May 19, 1933, in
Grand Saline to Charlie Gilbert and
Martha Benicie Tharp Raymond.
He was a licensed minister with
Pentecostal Church of God. Some
of his friends called him Custer
Raymond. He had lived in this area
all of his life. He was preceded in
death by daughter, Ricki Juanice
Raymond; brother, Jimmy Don
Raymond, and sister, Betty Ann
Raymond.
Survivors include his wife, Linda
Sue Rector Raymond of Ben
Wheeler; one son, Rickey Charles
Raymond of Mesquite; two daugh-
ters, Randi Raymond Parker of
Houston, and Rene Lovejoy of
Edom; one sister, Mary Raymond
Weeks of Wills Point; two brothers,
William Benjamin Raymond of
