BERNA -
Kenneth Ray "Pokey” Bema,
62, a communications installer,
died Monday, April 26, 2004 at
an Arlington hospital.
He wa bom Aug. 29, 1941 in
Dublin and attended school in
Dublin.
He is survived by two sons,
James Thomas Bema of Grand
Prairie and Todd Bema of
Coppell and by two sisters,
Mary Alice Calder of Dublin
and Imogene Jones of Capitan,
NM.
A memorial service was
April 29 at Fellowship Church
Chapel in Grapev ine.
Memorials can be made to
American Heart Association or
Wish with Wings.

Joe Dorsey, 92, the retired
owner of Dublin's Dorsey Dry
Cleaners, died Thursday, May
20, 2004 at Golden Age Manor.
He was bom May 7, 1912 in
Dublin to William David
Dorsey and Nora Jane
Hammers.
He was married to Iva G.
"Skeet" Galloway on Dec. 24,
1937 in Dublin. She preceded
him in death May 14, 2004.
Dorsey was a member of
First Baptist Church and the
Masonic Lodge #504.
Survivors include a sister,
Loise Huffman of Farmington,
NM.
Masonic graveside services
were Saturday, May 22, 2004 at
Gardens of Memory with Dean
Bradley officiating.
GUILL-
Danny Joe Guill, 34, died
Sunday, May 23, 2004 at
Stephenville Nursing Home.
He was bom March 17, 1970
in Gorman to Elmer Guill and
Pauline (Cox) Guill. A member
of Comyn Baptist Church, he
was a self-employed painter.
Guill was preceded in death
by his father in 1998 and a
brother, Mark Guill in 1986.
He is survived by two
daughters, Amber Ann Guill
and Autumn Ann Guil, both of
Missouri; mother, Pauline Guill
of Comanche; three brothers,
Earnest Guill of Comanche,
Dale Ray Guill of Hico and
Herman Lee Guill of Alto New
Mexico and two sisters, Betty
Hollifield and Darlene
Carpenter, both of Stephenville.
Funeral services were
Wednesday, May 26. 2004 at
Comanche Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Ray Seckinger
officiating. Burial was in
Oakwood Cemetery in
Comanche.

Jumey, 76, died Sunday, May
23, 2004 at Golden Age Manor
Nursing Home.
She was bom Aug. 24, 1927
in Dublin to Emmett Scott
Bradly and Lula Loretta
Huckabee.
She and Wyette Dawn Jumey
were married in Edna Hill on
July 13, 1946.
She was a homemaker, a
medical records secretary and a
member of First Baptist
Church.
She was preceded in death by
one son, Jerry W. Jumey on
Feb. 6, 1953.
Survivors include her
husband of Dublin; two sons,
Mike and Donnie Jumey, both
of Dublin; two sisters, Peggy
Jumey and Betty Hayes, both of
Dublin; three brothers, Bill and
Dean Bradley, both of Dublin
and Jerry Bradley of Hico.
Funeral services were
Wednesday at First Baptist
Dortha Jean (Bradley) Jurney
Church with burial in Dublin
Live Oak Cemetery. Dean
Bradley officiated.

Scott Bradley McIntosh
McIntosh
Scott Bradley McIntosh, 16,
died Friday, May 21, 2004 in
Cook's Childrens' Hospital in
Fort Worth.
He was bom Dec. 1, 1987 in
Llano to Darrell McIntosh and
Betty McMillian. He was a
member of Community Baptist
Church.
Survivors include his parents
of Dublin; two sisters, Stephanie
McIntosh and Megan McIntosh,
both of Dublin and
grandmothers Lois McIntosh of
Corsicana and Betty McMillian
of Dublin.
Funeral services were
Monday, May 24, 2004 in
Harrell Memorial Chapel with
Rev. Steve Parker officiating
assisted by Dean Bradley. Burial
was in Hanson Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family
has rquested that memorials be
sent to the Scottish Rite Hospital
or Community Baptist Church.
MCKENNA
Diann McKenna, 50, died
Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at a
Dublin residence.
She was bom Sept. 13, 1953,
in Decatur to William Paul and
Cleo Virginia (Mayfield) Tapp.
She was a Dublin resident and a
homemaker.
Survivors include three sons,
Les Bagley and Evan Bagley,
both of San Antonio and Shawn
McKenna of Jackson, MI; a
brother, Bill Tapp of Clairette
and two sisters, Paulette
Lawrence of Post and Tresa
McCain of Odessa.
Funeral services were
Sunday, May 23, at Lacy
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
Scott Hooper officiating. The
body was cremated.
Linnadelle Lee and her son

A stretch of East Blackjack
near downtown Dublin was
closed for some eight hours
Thursday afternoon due to a
construction worker hitting a
gas main.
No one was injured or
suffered ill effects due to the
gas.
Police and fife department
were deployed to keep
individuals away from the area
until TXU Gas employees with
Dublin's Robert Reed being
there first, could stop the flow
of gas and repair the rupture.
The contractor involved was
digging to replace city water
lines, a project that is near
completion. The contractor is
now working to repair holes in
city streets where the water
lines were buried.
Lions name new officers
Dublin Lions Club has re-
elected last year's officers to the
same office for another year.
Tom Gordon has been named
to serve another year as
president, David Cleveland will
serve another term as first vice
president and Mac McKinnon
will once again be second vice
president.
Ike Wade will serve again as
secretary-treasurer, Robert
Reed tail twister; Dr. Jeff
Hutchins, Lion Tamer.
Various committees are
headed by Cleveland, eye bank;
Wade, eye glasses; Steve
Hightower, gum machines;
Gordon, youth camp; Wade,
broom sale; Hutchins, fund
raising chairman; Rev. Ronald
Barnett, membership chairman
and Cleveland and Hutchins,

Desdemona VFD to hold open house
The Desdemona Volunteer
Fire Department will be
holding an open house on
Saturday, May 29, 2004 at the
Desdemona Fire Station on FM
8 in Desdemona.

are sponsoring a Christian
concert Memorial Day on
Monday, May 31 st at Lone Star
Arena.
The O.C. Supertones have
performed lor Pope John Paul
II and Billy Graham and have
covered such venues as the
Houston Astrodome and
performed for the Harvest
Crusades. Their music has
been described as Ska or pop
with a reggae Hair
complementing the band’s
edgy, youth-oriented ministry.
The Supertones address the
issues that kids deal with in
their everyday lives and try to
bring some answers to the
table. There will be an
autograph signing with the OC
Supertones at Wal-Mart in
Stephenville the day of the
concert between the hours of 2
p.m. and 4 p.m., sponsored by
Pepsi.
The O.C. Supertones concert
starts at 7 p.m. with the gates

Class of ‘59 to hold 45th reunion
The Dublin High School
Class of 1959 will meet for
their 45th Anniversary on June
12 during the Dublin Reunion.
The class will meet together
at 2 p.m. at the old high school
building in the central hallway.
All members of this class,
family members, and friends
are encouraged to attend both
the Reunion and the class
meeting.
