If some of those people who
are howling about Judge Ramsey
giving clubs the privilege to dis-
pense intox:cants really believed
their own twaddle, they would
be occupying front seats in the
Ramsey band wagon. {
The Banner is gratified at the
prospects of the certain nomina-
tion of .Morris Sheppard, Judge
Ramsey and Sen. Ben F. Looney,
Sentiment throughout the state
appears to be moving rapidly in
that direction. It might be add-
ed that W. P. Lane also is cer-
tain of nomination. Judge
AT SULPHUR SPRINGS
Thomas H. Ball of Houston will make a speech
on Ramsey, clean politics and good government at
2 o’clock at Stevenson Park, Sulphur Springs, on
the occasion of the Old Settlers Reunion, on the 23rd
day of July. Col. Ball is one of the most interesting
speakers in the state,
Grubb3 is making good headway
and with some effort on the part
of his friends he will likely ran
out ahead. Morris bheppard,
Judge Ramsey and Sen. Looney
are being fought bitterly by every
interest ia the state which has ah
ax to grind. Every institution
which would overthrow some of j
our good laws are opposing, es-
pecially Judge Ramsey and Sen.
Looney, for ia them lies the de-
fense ot Texas’ citizenship. The
real cause of this opposition on
the part of many is prohibition,
