The injunction against the
Chance-Loeb school district was
lifted last Thursday and a new
tax roll was made. The taxes are
being collected now at the office
at Loeb school.
Rev. Prentice Marcontel and
his family are guests in the home
of his brother, Rev. E. Marcontel
and family. He preached the
morning service Sunday in the
Loeb First Baptist Church. A bap-
tismal service followed Sunday
night.
Mrs. J. C. Taylor is a patient in
Beaumont City hospital.
Tommy Hardy was a guest Sun-
day of Miss Lanelle Boykin.
Billy Butchee, Mr. and Mrs
Joseph Barks and children and
Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Butchee and
children spent Christmas with
their mother in Beaumont.
Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Shawver
and Sbn, Homer, and Billy
Butchee went to Jasper Sunday
and the parents remained for
Christmas holidays with the L.
G. Robinson family. Mr. and Mrs,
Ernest Shawver visited with the
Robinson family enroute home

George Wayne Brown, who is
in the armed service, spent a
leave with his mother and step
father last week.
Mert Jordan, his daughter and
her children of Sour Lake were
visitors Sunday in the C. T. Jor-

Beaumont were visitors in the C.
J. Bendy home and also in the
Scott McDonald home in Silsbee.
Mrs. Mandy Sheppard, sister of
Mrs. G. W. Caywood, was injured
in Houston several days ago when
she stepped from a bus and was
struck by a car. She is in the hos-
pital recovering.
Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Fairchild
and baby were guests in the C.
V. Williams home during the hol-
idays.
Mrs. Hazel Castollna had her
son and family from Crockett. She
returned home to remain until
her daughter-in-law undergoes
surgery.

brother attended baptismal ser-
vices for little Robert Dank Mc-
Roberts in Silsbee Catholic
Church Sunday morning.
Mrs. R. S. Ray and Tommie
Condray have just returned from
a visit in Houston.
Mrs. T. F. Jeffcoat and children
visited recently in Bee Branch,
Arkansas and her father returned
home with them for a visit.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Mobley
visited .Wednesday in the F. Lan-
dry home and Theresa returned to
Silsbee with them for a visit.
Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Faggard, Jr.
and Carolyn attended her neice’s
wedding Saturday night in
Kountze. Guests in the Faggard
home for the holidays were Mr.
and Mrs. E. E. Stephens and sons
of Sour Lake, Mrs. W. T. White
and sons of Corpus Christi, Mr.
and Mrs. A. L.. Anrdus of Rose
dale, C. M. Wells of Mauriceville
and Mother Faggard.
Mrs. H. Heiselbetz has been
very ill.
Mrs. Lula Metcalf of Kountze
spent three Weeks with Mrs. C.
H. Smith. Mrs. J. Downing of
Kountze and Mrs. Davidson of
Newton were Christmas visitors

District News
At their regular monthly meet-
ing Dec. 20, the Board of Super-
visors voted to purchase a mech-
anical tree planter. The board felt
a tree planter is needed to get
some of the 65,000 acres of need-
ed land planted to trees in our
district.
This planter will be available
to all landowners in our district
at a low rent rate.

Bill Bush has some of the finest
S-l White clover seen anywhere.
S-l White clover is proving itself
to be the finest cool season legume
when adapted. It gets off to an
early start and stays late in the
summer. Mr. Bush's clover was
planted in October and fertilized
with a complete fertilizer accord-
ing to soil needs. This clover .is
now three to four inches high.
Mr. Bush’s place is six miles
south of Kountze.
