C S. Beard Upholds Fairness,
Integrity Of Polite Officers

Messrs. David and Ft L Read
Owners and Publishers of
The Silsbee Bee
Dear Sirs:
My car may not start, and
•my butane tank' may go dry,
but* who can 1 blame except
myself. It may seem foolish
starting that way, but I don't
blame you for the article of
Mrs Turner in yesterday's Bee.
I am thinking that it was her
own personal opinion and nut
the voters of Hardin County,
and' Silsbcc as a whole.
I've been a resident of Har-
din County practically all my
life. I've traveled ail my life.
,and so far as law enforcement
is concerned I can't find any
fault with the law enforcement,
especially in Silsbee.
I have visited the city liall them. Mr. Tarver and
and police department of Sils-'Sharp, a public apology.
And bad there been any gamb-
ling, T would have seen it. I am
with the opinion that there is
some personal feeling that
prompted' Mrs. Turner's deci-
sion so far as the integrity of
Mr Tarver or Mr. Sharpe, and
in my opinion they ar%both un-
questionable as to fairness or
favors shown to anyone. I have
called on both of them on dif-
ferent occasions, and they have
been alert and fair regardless
of the circumstance, persons,
or time when called.
I think if people would take
notice and search themselves
that they fwould find out that
an officer enjoys a pastime,
sports or television, just as-any
other person. 1 sincerely be-
lieve that Mrs. Turner owes
