The Board of Directors of
Gulf States Utilities Company
has approved in principal a
proposed plan to authorize a
•‘two-for-one” split of the com-
pany's presently authorized 10
million shares of common stock,
it was announced by L. Good-
win district superintendent,
following the March 23 meet-
ing of the board in the Gulf
States building in Beaumont.
The proposed plan would
change Gulf Slates’ presently
! authorized 10 million shares of
common stock, without par
I value, including issued shares,
|into 20 million shares of com-
mon stock, without par value,
|by splitting each share into two
j shares.
To accomplish this change,
will require approval by the
i shareholders of an amendment
to the- Gulf States' Articles of
Incorporation. The amendment
will be submitted at the annual
I meeting of shareholders on
Monday, June 8. 1959.
