John Williams, aged 24, was
seized by a group of masked meD
while in a cafe at Arlington Sat-
urday night, taken eight miles
into the country and severly
whipped and ordered to leave
town.
G. Waltrip of Clarkton, Mo.,
has had ten quarts of blood infus-
ed into his body at Fort Worth at
the home of his brother, Dr. P.
M. Waltrip. He was losing blood
from pyorrheoa and death seemed
near when the tranfusions were
begun. After each the patient
would revive and was finally able
to have his teeth removed and
his gums treated. It is predicted
he will recover.
Carroll Chapel of Baylor Uni
versity was skeletonized by fire
lateTnesday, with a loss estimat-
ed at $125,000. The building
was insured for $100,000. Stud-
ents succeeded in saving about
half the books in the University
library.
John Bilski, 19-year-old son of
Joe Bilski, was killed near Bren-
ham when his body was run over
by a wagon.

Roy Burrow, 17-year-old son
of Walter Burrow, of Stamford,
was killed instantly when his gun
slipped from his hands and was
discharged.

All Over Texas
At Concord, seven miles north-
east of Waco, W. H. Barker and
his wife were brutally murdered
Saturday night, and Homer Turk,
the son of a neighbor, was so
badly injured that he died with-
out being able to throw any light
upon the tradegy. The husband
was shot and the wife’s head split
with an ax. Young Turk’s skull
was crushed. Money in the house
was not taken and the store ad
joining was not entered. The
4-vear-old daughter of the mur-
dered couple is the only eye wit-
ness and can tell but little. A
number of Mexicans were de-
tained upon her testimony, but
have about all been released.
The five-year-old daughter of
J, H. Farmer was killed Monday
near Corsicana when a wagon
wheel ran over her head.
Deny Responsibility
McKinney Ku Klux Klan deny
responsibility for the letter sign-
ed “K. K. K,,” received by Mr.
Cave of Melissa, and say they
will pay a liberal cash reward for
the arrest and conviction of any
party or parties who have writ-
ten or may write any unlawful
communication and sign same
with the name of the Ku Klux
Klan.
