CAMP PUBLICITY OFFICE.
Camp Travis, Texas, April 7.—Sol-
diers being discharged at Camp Triv-
ia are notified that the people of
their home towns are anxious to keep
accurate records of all men who have
been in service. To that end, dis-
charged soldiers are urged to call on
city or county clerks at their homes
for the purpose of registering.
Through such registration, friends
. of discharged soldiers may be enabi
ed to get in touch with them, em-
ployers will he enabled to select work-
ers, and other information for the
benefit of the men thereby lx- obtain-
ed.
Men who land in intermediate cities
between camp and home should reg-
ister at Post Offices, VV. C C. S. huts!
and similar points where their towns
men may locate them. Provision for
such intermediate registering will be
established shortly.

“FOLKS WOULD PESTER ME"
Somebody asked an old Missouri
store-keeper why he did not put a
small advertisement in the local news-
paper and advertise a "home blend"
of coffee that was particularly good.
“I don’t wanta,” he replied lazily.
“If I did folks would pester me all
the time to show ’em my goods.”
Thus did an old Missouri store-
keeper pay unconscious tribute to the
business-getting value of advertising,
lie missed a lot of business, of course,
but there's another side of it.
Lots of people who really wanted
this particular brand of coifee were
unable to get it because no one ever
told them where it was to be had.

W. C. Knight, who is in charge of
the erection of the rig states that the
equipment is the most modern that
money can buy, and is capable of
handling any size hole to a depth of
four thousand feet if it found neces-
sa>> to go that deep. He states that,
unless the missing parts of the rig
utv very greatly delayed, the big drill
should start by the latter part of the
coming week at the latest.
-Mr Ferguson has been on the
ground all during the past week per-
