Kerrville, Texas, Jan. 3.—One of
the most unusual hunting stories of
the 1931 deer and wild turkey sea-
son came to light here during the
week-end when it was learned that
'Mrs. Sarah E. Surber, living within
two miles of Kerrville, brought down
!a ten-point buck just at dusk on the
last day of the season, after trying
I to1 ambush the animal for several
weeks to keep it from eating her
dooryard flowers. For several weeks,
i the deer escaped after its mischiev-
ous work, being under protection of
law after dark. Watchful waiting up
to the very last minute, however,
[brought Mrs. Surber revenge and
also a nice trophy for the hunting
