How Dublin Was
20 Years Ago
FRIDAY, MAY 10,1957
Several hundred Boy Scouts
and Explorers will pitch camp at
Lake Leon Friday and Saturday
for their annual spring campout.
The Shrine Gub of Erath
County, in regular meeting on
May 3, passed a resolution of
commendation to Dr. Thomas F.
Bryan, named as "General
Practitioner of the Year” at a
meeting of the State Medical
Association in Dallas last
month.
The Dublin Lions Club will
present their annual show on
May 16 and 1J, it was
announced by the club officials
this week.
The two-hour show will
feature musical acts, comedy
and speciality acts and is an all
home talent presentation under
direction of Willis Irwin.
The music pupils of Mrs.
Lincoln Lane will be presented
in a recital Thursday evening,
May 16, at 8 o'clock at the First
Baptist Church.

convention held in Dallas April

FRIDAY, MAY 9,1947
The Dublin Mills, with L. G.
Maund as manager, has been
completely overhauled and is
now operating day and night
shifts. They are turning out
some 400 sacks of flour per day
and will have a capacity of 600
after all installations are com-
pleted. The repair and installa-
tion work has been under the
direction of L. N. Frolech,
experienced miller, formerly of
Houston, Texas, but now a
resident of this city. The
buildings are to be painted on
the outside as soon as possible,
states Mr. Maund.
Dillard Adair has recently
been added to the faculty staff
of the Dublin High School as
coach. William H. Stanley, the
former coach, has been elected
as principal of the High School.
W. P. Hallmark, local director
of the West Texas Chamber of
Commerce, attended a meeting
of the Santa Fe officials and
directors of the West Texas
Chamber of Commerce at
Sweetwater last Friday. Plans
were utlined for a real
campaif n of advertising Texas
opportunities. Mr. Hallmark
reportel a very enthusiastic
meeting.
