The Peppers had a full day
this past Saturday. We went
to Stephenville and played
the Astros that morning and
then went to the park for a
picnic lunch then we
returned to the soccer field
that afternoon to play the
Rowdies. We were defeated
both games but Rita and I
were very proud of them.
We may not have a winning
team in the terms of scoring
this year but it has been a
pleasure to work with each
and everyone of them.
Our players are very good
sports on the field and that
is more than we can say for
some of the players of the
teams we have played.
We want to thank the
parents that have taken the
time to come out and help
back our Peppers and would
like to encourage those that
haven’t to come out next
Saturday, May the 9th at 11
o’clock and watch them
play. We are playing the
Cardinals. We tied them the
first time we played and we
are going to try our best to
win this one. Your presence
and support will help. You
may not think your child
misses you being there but
it really does make a
difference. Just ask them!

Dublin’s Bill Boy Bryant
broad-jumped a season’s
best 20 feet, 10 inches and
ran a 22.9 second 200 meter
dash, both in the prelimi-
naries last week in
Stephenville at the Region n
qualifiers meet.
Although he did not make
the finals in either
event, his marks were both
good enough to place him
eighth in overall competi-
tion.
Coach Duke Everett com-
ments, “I apprecaite Bill
Boy’s participating in track,
and I’m proud that he was
the first male athlete in
Dublin since the early 1970s
to win a first place trophy at
the Boys’ District track
meet."

FRANK BRISCOE,
Dublin, Texas Preacher
The New Testament Church Exists Today
Jesus stated it conclusively, ‘‘Tlie seed is the word of
God" (Lk. 8:11). Peter declared it, also: “Ye are
begotten again..by the word of God, which liveth and
abideth forever..And this the word of the gospel that
was preached to you” (1 Pet. 121-23). When people
surrender to Christ on His terms (Mk. 16:16) and the
New Testament is their sole guide in religion (2 Tim.
3:16,17), the "seed of the kingdom” (Lk. 8:11)
germinates into the New Testament church. As we are
guided by the New Testament in terms of salvation,
worship and organization of the church, pattern for
daily living, then the New Testament church is a
reality.
Is the New Testament church a reality for you in your
life? Will you accept the New Testament as the only
trustworthy and sufficient guide, thus surrendering to
Christ in the way the New Testament teaches? W ill you
seek out a fellowship of believers whose teaching is the
New Testament: whose worship, organization and
practice is found in the New Testament?
"What shall we do?” God’s answer was, “Repent,
and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus
Christ .Then they that gladly received his word were
baptized, and there were added unto them about three
thousand souls. .And the Lord added to the church daily
such as should be saved" (Acts 2:37-38, 41.47). Those
people were members of the New Testament church. If
you will do the same as they did, as the New Testament
teaches, you will be a member of the same church to
which the Lord added them. That is still the New
Testament church.
