Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo
and her husband owned and operated
The Shoe Repair Shop in Amarillo
for over 50 years. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include a daughter, Lila
Thomas of Dallas; two grandchildren,
Glenda Nance of Amarillo and Artie
West of Fort Worth; six great-grand-
children; five great-great-grandchil-
dren; and two sisters, Ollie Groom of
Dallas and Arti Taylor of Eldorado,
Ark.
She was also preceded in death by
two sons, two brothers and three sis-
ters.

Graveside services for W.L.
(William) Bowen, 66, of Gladewater,
formerly of Sulphur Springs, were
held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 7, in
Gladewater Memorial Park Cemetery
with the Rev. Ray South officiating.
Mr. Bowen died Tuesday, June 4,
in a Longview hospital.
He was bom June 4,1930, in Cum-
by, the son of William “Bill” and
Gladys Mae Gaines Bowen.
Mr. Bowen was retired from Rock-
well Manufacturing Company and
National Linen Service. He was a tav-
ern keeper in Gladewater.
Survivors include two sons, Bryan
Bowen of Commerce and Harold
Bowen of Gladewater, two daughters,
Joyce Ann Dixon of Commerce and
Peggy Gammons of Edgewood; two
brothers, Raymond Leon Bowen of
Mesquite and Ronnie Bowen of Law-
ton, Okla.; a sister, Mary Ann Burch
of Chantille, Va.; three stepchildren,
Bonnie Marlow of Gladewater, Don-
nie Huggins of Hooks and Richard
Blalock of Mineola; 14 grandchil-
dren; and five great-grdndchildren.
Mack Glover
Funeral services for Mack Glover,
85, of Bogata were held at 2 p.m. Fri-
day, June 7, in Bogata United
Methodist Church.
Burial was in Bogata Cemetery.
Mr. Glover died at 9 p.m. Wednes-
day, June 5, in East Texas Medical
Center in Clarksville.
He was bom April 17, 1911, in
Deport, the son of Robert and Della
Burros Glover. He married Edna Earl
Scaff, who preceded him in death on
April 13, 1971. He married Doris
Branch in 1972. She survives.
Mr. Glover was a retired television
sales and repairman and a cattle
rancher.
O’her survivors include a nephew
he raised as a son, Paul Glover of
Sulphur Springs; two stepchildren,
Jimmy Branch of Bogata and Rita
Beth Reed of Lafayette, La.; six step-
grandchildren; five step-great-grand-
children; three brothers, Curtis Glover
of Deport, Elwin Glover of Omaha
and Carmen Glover of Longview,
Wash.; and one sister, Dorothy Reep
of Paris.
He was also preceded in death by
four brothers, Paul, Doyle, Weldon
and Arnold Glover.
Clara M. Alford
Funeral services for Clara M.
Alford, 86, of Sulphur Springs were
held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 8, in
Murray-Orwosky Chapel with the
Rev. Cleatus Speed and the Rev.
George Malis officiating.
Burial was in Winterfield Cemetery
with Kent Gilmer, Don Neystifter,
Gerald Allen, Richard Alford, Craig
Wheeler and Shannon Alford serving
as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers
were Randy Driskell, Robert Pollard,
Clayton Goerdel and David Gilmer.
Mrs. Alford died at 4:18 a.m.
Thursday, June 6, in Hopkins County
Memorial Hospital
She was bom April 30, 1910, in
Warren, Ark., the daughter of Ben
and Maude Martin Harrelson. She
children; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by
two children.

Mr. Piasta died at 9:08 a.m. Friday,
June 7, in Mount Pleasant as a result
of injuries received in an automobile
accident
He was bom Jan. 21, 1967, in
Killeen, the son of Richard and Sylvia
Tticker Piasta. He married Cynthia
Ann Romero on Feb. 14, 1993, in
Austin. She survives.
Mr. Piasta was co-manager for the
Wal-Mart Supercenter in Mount
Pleasant. He was a member of the
League Street Church of Christ in
Sulphur Springs.
Other survivors include his parents
of Huntsville; a daughter, Connie
Piasta of Sulphur Springs; one son,
Christopher Piasta of Sulphur
Springs; a sister, Kimberly Meschke
of Navasota; and a brother, Kevin
Piasta of Burnet.
He was preceded in death by one
brother, Chad Piasta; and his grand-
parents, A.E. “Son” and Treva Tucker
and Michael and Olga Piasta.

Wright, 78, formerly of Sulphur
Springs, were held Saturday, June 8,
at Grace Christian Fellowship in
Houma, La.
Mr. Wright died Thursday, June 6.
He was bom Dec. 22, 1917, in
Alba, the son of James Oscar and
Cordie Lee Spricer Wright.
Mr. Wright was a retired employee
of Texaco Pipeline Company.
Survivors include his wife. Emest-
dean “Dee” Wright of Houma; three
daughters, Barbara Cook of Hender-
son, Gwen Bailey of Kilgore and Kay
Bergeron of Houma; a son, James
Allen Wright of Paris; seven grand-
children; and seven great-grandchil-
dren.
He was preceded in death by one
son and several brothers and sisters.

Middlebrook, 75, of Seagoville were
held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, in

Mrs. Middlebrook died Sunday
night, June 9, at her residence.
She was bom April 14, 1921, in
Pine Forest, the daughter of Vester
and Robbie Minter Phillips.
Mrs. Middlebrook was a home-
maker and a member of the Church of
Christ.
Survivors include a daughter, Gwen

Richard Phillips of Bay City; four sis-
ters, Clovis Gibbs and Eva Felger,
both of Dallas, Bobbie Donohue of
Plano and Ramona Lundin of Over-

grandchildren.

Mr. Holland died at 5:30 a m. Mon-
day, June 10, in Memorial Southeast
Hospital in Houston.
He was bom April 19, 1933, in
Houston, the son of Charles and Eve-
lyn A. Brunson Holland. He married
Vonda N. Jordan on Oct. 8,1972, in
Houston. She survives.
Mr. Holland was a general contrac-
tor and an Army veteran of the Kore-
an War. He was a past member of the
Sulphur Springs Jaycees, VFW Post
in Ellington and the First United
Methodist Church of Sulphur Springs.
Other survivors include two sons,
Rick Holland of Arlington and Brian
George of Houston; three daughters,
Amy Hammons of Sulphur Springs
and Mitzi Wiess and Brenda Bums,
both of Houston; two brothers. Jack
