Is your water clean? If you think that the water that
comes through your faucet is guaranteed to be uncon-
taminated, maybe you need to take a closer look at it.
Since starting their Shaklee Products business two
years ago, Al and Carol Worley found that g(xxl health
is not limited to the daily intack of vitiniins and heal-
thy eating habits.
Everyone, says AI Worley, is subjected to other un-
healthy contaminants in the air we breathe and the
water we drink. "The water around here is no excep-
tion,” he said.
Because of daily complaints received from friends
and neighbors about the quality of their drinking water,
the Worleys began to focus a large pait of their heal-
thier lifestyles" program on finding a clean water sys-
tem that could be made available to families at a
reasonable cost.
"Most of us are pretty complacent about the quality
of our water. Unless there’s an obvious problem —
such as smells, discoloration, sediments and a lot of
chlorination — we tend to think of our water as ‘good.’
But if you look at the facts, that complacency is un-
founded. It’s human, I guess, for us to take the attitude
that if we ignore the problem it’ll go away. Human, but
not healthy. So, in the meantime, we put up with con-
taminants that our water systems, public or private,
may not be able to eliminate, and keep on risking our
health."
The Worleys note that some of the common assump-
tions that people make about water are:
(1) Water across the U.S. is the best in the world,
pure, healthy and safe to drink.____
(2) Water treatment facilities remove contaminants
from your drinking water.
(3) Government agencies know exactly what’s in
drinking water and test thoroughly to make sure it’s
safe.
In reality, say the Worleys, the Environmental
Protection Agency (EPA) allows measurable amounts
of 22 contaminants — including lead and arsenic — to
exist in drinking water.
"Hundreds of more contaminants aren’t even regu-
lated, or even tested for."

water contaminants are unknown, they said, adding
that nationwide water samples have turned out to be a
"chemical soup," containing traces of bacteria, asbes-
tos, lead, radioactive compounds, industrial waste and
untold other contaminants.
"Armed with this information and the fact that our
personal water supply is disgusting, we’ve taken steps
to at least clean up our water supply the best way we
can by installing a filtration system in our home.”
The Worleys home is equipped with a Bcstwater
Whole House Filtration System. In addition they’ve in-
stalled a Bcstwater Reverse Osmosis unit, which they
have found to be effective against virtually all types of
contaminants, backed up by various documented
studies and which is currently listed as "best buy" in
the August 1994 issue of Consumer’s Digest.
As a Shaklee Products independent distributor, the
Worleys pursue a healthier lifestyle for themselves
through the use of the Shaklee vitimins, food supple-
ments and other products. "We want to share them
with family and friends in the East Texas communities.
We were more than pleased to find that Shaklee sup-
ports and endorses Bcstwater and their products as an
important adjunct to the growing list of things we all
can do to insure a happy and healthful lifestyle."
