To Glitter at Fair
A collection of diamond* Worth
over ten million dollar!, Including
the famous Hope diamond, will be
the central exhibit In the air-con-
ditioned Women’s Building at the
1954 8tate Fair of Texas, Oct. 9-21.
Surrounding the diamonds will
be a fabulous display of fine furs,
couturier gowns, lingerie, millinery,

Edith Head, winner of several
Academy Awards for film costumes
will be present at the fair with the
pocar-wlnnli.g clotlies she designed
for the movie "Roman Holiday." A
cobbler will show how a hand-
crafted snoe us put together, a lead-
ing perfumer will introduce a now
fragrance especially for the fair,
and there will be an exhibit showing
hew an evening gown evolves from
processes that began tn a South
Texas oilfield chemical plant.
The diamond display will glitter
around a manikin wearing the
"Count ol Jewels" a collection of
priceless gem* that one time ador-
ned the crowned heads of Europe.
Rough stones also will be shown, a-
long with the finished gems in set-
tings for the hair, throat or wrist.
The entire high-fashioned dis-
play Is something entirely new to
falrdom. Oeneral Manager James
H. Stewart said, and will give the
now women’s building a sparkling
sendoff.
More than 65 leading fashion
manufacturers will have displays
in the exhibit, ana they mt
drawn from all over the world. One
shoe firm now has representatives
visiting London. Switzerland and
Paris to bring the Latest European

Mr. and Mrs. Willis were manned
here on August 28. 1904, at the
home of Mrs. Willis’ sister, the late
Mrs. P V Allen The Rev. C W.
H'lburn. pastor of the First Meth-
odist Church in Ennis at that time,
was the officiating minister.
Mr. and Mrs Willis recall that
the ceremony was performed at 8
o’clock In the morning because, they
had to make the trip to their fu-
ture home in Mabank by horse and
buggy.
The couple came to Enn's to
make their home in 1905 Mr. Willis
was an independent oil dealer here
