Shultz Convert.
The trial of John Shult j;oramcnced on
Tuesday last for the murder or Messrs. llate-
man and Jctt early in January 1845and was
closed yesterday evening when tho Jury
brought in a verdict of guilty after an ab-
sence of about ten minutes. It was proved
on the trial that Shultz started fiom Gonzales
in company with It. and J. about Christmas
1814 and that ho was seen in company with
them the very day before tho night they were
murdered. lie was seen with them about 15
or 20 miles fiom lrguna Point about mid-
day and their bodies were found in the prai-
rie about one milo from Virginia Point tho
next day. Jett was found lyinc with his head
n his saddle in tho position in which he doubt
less slept tho ball having passed through his
head and killed him instantly as ho lay. The
body of Uateman was found soma 30 or 40
yards distant with indications of his having
