Midshipman Thomas J. Hardy,
son of Mrs. Elizabeth Hardy of
Siisbee, class of 1958, has been ap-
pointed to the Superintendent’s
List at the U. S. Naval Academy,
Annapolis, Md., for his accom-
plishments during the first term of
the academic year 1957-58, it was
announced today.
The list is similar in many ways
to the Dean's List at many col-
leges and universities, to order for
a midshipman to be so honored,
he had to meet a minimum aca-
demic average of 3.3 (82.5%) in
his studies, have a mark no tower
than 3J (80%) in aptitude, and
possess a conduct standing satis-
factory to the Commandant of
Midshipmen.
Entered under a second class mailing permit April 10, 1919, at the
Office at Siisbee, Texas, under the Act of March 3, 1879.

Leon Adams, Mrs. Lovis H.
Tubbs, Jr, Mrs. Grover White Jr,
and Mrs. Fred Jenson.
Refreshments were served to
those attending.
Negro Church Group
Changes Meeting Place
New Bethel Baptist Church will
bold their meetings in the Mason-
ic temple on Uth street beginning
Sunday.
The church is being torn down
in order that a new building
might be built.
Rev. A. Williams is pastor of
this church.
