chess player, he was a former resi-
dent of Rolling Meadows Retire-
ment Community in Wichita Falls
Survivors include his daughters
Eileen Geeslin and husband. Bill,
of Durham, N.H.; Yvonne Sinclair
and husband, Bill, of San Antonio;
and Doris Messer and husband,
Dave, of Midland; a son Douglas
•Brown and wife, Melissa, of
vrowtey, sister Elaine Messer of
Clifton; two grandchildren; and
jwo great-grandchildren.

dercy Catholic Church invites

rail Festival Sunday, Oct. 6, on the

buzzing with the works of men and
women of First United Methodist
Church of Menduui, as they pro
pare for the second annual Lord's
Harvest Festival on Oct. 12, from
9 30 a.m. to 2 pm
Men are working on bluebird
houses, yard art, bird feeders, pol
ished rocks, hat and coat racks,
and gathering hay for decorations
and to sell at the festival The
women are making quilts, door
stops, baby blankets, jams and jel
lies, chow-chow, salsas, fudge,
cakes, and cookies and other
homemade treats.
A black 3/4 Angus calf will also
be offered by one of the men at the
grand auction
Young children will be delighted
with the “Kid’s Kingdom" where
they will find a Winnie the Pooh
Moon walk, face painting, sand art,
pumpkin painting, and scarecrow
dressing, as well as the famous J
Train for fun rides

older children and safety har-
nesses will allow them to climb all
the way to the top if they choose

and a pumpkin patch

CLIFTON — A reunion of all
descendants of all Grimland an
cestors will be held at The Armory
in Clifton City Park Saturday, Oct.
4, Each family is asked to bring
food to combine with that from
others for a pot-luck meal
“People are encouraged to start
arriving at 10 a.m. so there is ad
equate time to visit and to set up
for the activities. A playground
leader will have activities and
equipment for children during the
afternoon,” said a family spokes-
man.
Facilities for heating or cooling
food are limited, so attendees are
asked to bring coolers and ice
chests to keep items cool or warm
until just before eating at about
12:30 p.m.. Also, each family is
asked to bring serving spoons for
the food to be shared, and plates,
forks, beverages, etc. for their own
use. Tea and lemonade will be fur-
nished.
Items also should be brought
for a silent auction. The proceeds
will be used for expenses for the
reunion and possible future activi-
ties. There will also be a program
about the Grimland family, and in-
formation will be given about the
significant progress toward pub-
lishing a Grimland family tree.

Loss Healing
Workshops Begin
Tuesday At Trinity
CLIFTON — “Understanding
and Healing our Losses" will be
the focus of a five-week workshop
beginning Tiesday, Sept. 17. Led
by the Rev. Herb Lammert, the
sessions will meet on consecutive
Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in the lounge/
library at Trinity Lutheran
Church, located at 803 West 3rd
Street in Clifton. Attendees are
asked to use the side entrance on
North Avenue J.
The meetings will help partici
pants understand the grief and
sadness we experience upon the
death of a loved one in our fami-
lies or among our friends. The ex-
periential losses associated with
divorce, unemployment, and loss
of health or home will also be con-
sidered. Anyone in the community
who is experiencing such losses is
invited to participate.
The workshops are held under
the auspices of the Lay Ministry
Board of Trinity Lutheran Church
and provided as a service to the
entire Clifton community
Rev. Lammert, a retired Luth-
eran pastor, is a member of Trin-
ity Lutheran Church and currently
serves as chaplain for Vista Care
Ffemity Hospice of Temple.
