THIS BEWILDERED little calf was a badly shaken animal when
this picture was snapped. It was riding, tied, in the back of the pick-
up truck driven by George Hart of SUsbee, when the truck over-
turned, due to a whipping trailer load of cattle. The cows escaped
the trailer when the truck and trailer turned on their side. Miracu-
lously, the oalf was uninjured, though tied around the neck when
the truck overturned. At left, Jasper County Deputy Sheriff Leon-
ard Franklin, inspects the damage.

THE
SKINNY
PIG
Once upon a time there was
a puny pig who was fed down
on life. He needed transpork-
tation but thought he couldn’t
afford a new car.
One day he happened by his
Mercury dealer and discovered
it didn’t take a heavy down
payment to own a Mercury,
and there was very little to
pay each month. So, he bought
one! Now he’s living high on
himself.
moral: When fed up with fat
cash outlays, portly payments,
see your Mercury dealer. Own

models of the "low-price 3."
