Sunset Formally Opens New Elton Library
Partners With Nellie Pederson Library
CLIFTON — Residents of
Clifton Sunset Home recently at-
tended the “official" ribbon-cutting
of the Elton Library located in the
entrance hallway of the new nurs-
ing facility. The Sunset Auxiliary is
taking the lead in ensuring that
current topic books are available
to Sunset’s residents, and that
reading opportunities are frequent.
Taking the lead as the
auxiliary’s librarian, is Therissa
Young of Clifton. Young has worked
with the local librarian. Dr. Shirley
Dahl, of the Nellie Pederson Library
in Clifton to provide 340 large-print
books through an exchange pro-
gram with the state library.
The library room at Sunset was
named in memory of Peggy Elton,
who was a volunteer at Sunset for
many years. Her last years were
spent at Sunset as a resident. She
supported reading both through
her support of the Nellie Pederson
library and through her volunteer
work in her church library.
Marsha Brown, Sunset adminis
trator, and Rhonda Terrell, Sunset
activity director, look forward to
another opportunity for Sunset
residents to lead active, fulfilling
lives while at Sunset Home.
In July. Young will be expand-
ing the program to College Hill As
sisted Living with a
“ribbon-cutting" at the Nelson Li
brary of Heckmann Residence on
the Sunset Campus.
