final exams early this week to be
with his father, F. E. Lynch, who
is at his home recovering from a
heart attack. Marvin had to re-
turn for his last'final on Wednes-
day.

attend the funeral of Mrs. Mary
Gaustad, the latter was an aunt of

Miss Joye Evans, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. O. R. Evans of Wal-
nut Springs, became the bride of
Gordon V. Kahler, son of Mrs. E.
J, Kahler of Buckholt, at 6:00 p.
m. on Saturday, May 21, at the
.First Baptist Church in Valley
Mills; the Rev. J. D. Barnes, offi-
ciated. „
The bride wore a powder blue
dress with a pink carnation bead
dress and corsage, and black ac-
cessories. She also wore a cameo
belonging to the groom’s mother,
and carried a white Bible and a
lace handkerchief.
She was attended by her sisters,
Misses Fern and Bonnie Evans,
each wearing white with navy ac-
cessories and blue corsages. Leslie
Sakewitz and Vernon Groppel,
both of Buckholt were the groom’s
attendants.
Following the ceremony, the
wedding party drove to. Waco
where they had dinner.
After a wedding trip to Mexico
the couple will make their home in
Walnut Springs, where Mr. Kah-
ler will open a drug store sooii
after the first of June.

GEORGETOWN, Tex., May 24.
—The results of the popular vote
at the Senior'Art Exhibit held at
the Student Center‘at Southwest-
ern University the week of May
23rd-28th showed the winner as
Floyd Eggen with his water color
still life, “Study in Stripes.” Mr.
Eggen’s oil, “Still Life,” also tied
for second place with Ernest
Bosse’s “Genesis,” an interpreta-
tive oil painting begun from an ab-
stract color pattern. Third place
was a tie, tbo, between j^orothy
Henderson’s figure study in oils,
’’Joanne,” and Mr. Bosse’s “Daisy,”
an oil portrait of Mrs. Allah Rak-
ha Samuel whose husband is a fel-
low in. education, coming to South-
western from Parkistan, India.
