Terri arrived to bless the home
of Mayor and Mrs. Chas. K.
(Chock) Word of Meridian. She
also has an older brother, Cole,
age 10. We feel sure that little
Terri will have her duties cut out
for her with helping her Dad
run the city government, local
abstract company, Waco Savings
& Loan Assn, and her mother
with the local J&J Grocery, not
to mention her “sisterly” duties
to Cole and with her assistance,
we are sure that her grandpar-
ents, Mr. and Mrs. L. A Ode,
will manage the Meridian State
Park most efficiently. Little lady
you have a busy schedule ahead
of you. Congratulations to the
new arrival and her family.

tember, my 18 year old nephew,
Ollie Owen, son of Arville Owen
of Morgan, was injured in a dove
hunting trip near Lake Whitney.
Ollie lost most of his left hand
during that accident and was hos-
pitalized in the Clifton Hospital
for a week’s stay. But the hunt-
ing fever still prevailed. Just
two weeks after this accident, he
took to “the woods’’ again and
his hunting efforts proved fruit-
ful with his accomplishment of
bagging his game. Now, three
months later, with hunting every
chance he has, it gave him a real
accomplishment when on Wednes-
day Dec. 6, he bagged an 8-point
121 pound deer. This was his
first year to try for the deer,
and he promiras it will not be
his last.
