an entry In the high school baseball
race this year; last year was the

a baseball team In a number of
years. They feel they will give
the other teams plenty to worry

and Harold Davidson of Shreveport,
La. was groomsman. Ushers were

the bride and W. C. Piper.
A reception was held at the home
of the bride’s parents where Miss
Beverly. Piper registered the guests.
An arrangement of white stock and
calla lilies centered the dining table
with tall candles in crystal candel-
abra at each side. The bridegroom’s
sisters, Miss Leon McRae, Miss
Vera Mae McRae and Mrs. Boyce
Gatewood, were in charge of the
three tiered cake and punch bowl,
placed at each end.
The bride’s going-away costume
was a navy blue bolero suit, with
which she wore anolka dot blouse.
Her navy hat was trimmed with
pink flowers and she wore 'blue
accessories. Her corsage was a
white orchid.
She is a graduate of Woodrow
Wilson High School. The bride-
groom is a graduate of Louisiana
Polytechnic Institute, at Ruston, La.

and Waco Tech are members of
baseball District iflA. Itasca is
the defending champion, winning
the crown last year without losing
a district game. This year, Class
A teams will play for the regional
^District 19A voted to play a
double round robin schedule begin-
ning April A and running through
May 6. Competition is expected to
be better this year with two new
teams competing—West and Waco
Tech, and one year of experience
after the layoff of so many years.
Supt. Kent Appleby of Clifton is
Chairman of the 19A baseball dis-
trict.
