the dam which furnish the pure
water (one of the larger springs
a little further up the creek is used
for irrigation purposes by “Bud”
Bergman).
Saturday, water was being
pumped to the two tanks which
had been dug out. The dirt from
these tanks had been put across a
small creek before it entered Tur-
key Creek and another tank was
thus formed. Some minnows had
already been put into the latter.
The tanks appear to be holding
water well and the minnow farm-
ers seemed to think that Turkey
Creek would soon be running over
the spillway they had built by their
earthen dam. Several springs below
their dam had kept water running
in Turkey Creek to the south of
their dam.
Some 3,000 breeding minnows
arrived Saturday. The owners have
no worries about their market, but
have yet to find out just how fast
and successful they can produce
minnows.
A large number from the com-
munity have been out to see what

doing and have come away im-
pressed with their project.

“Our telephone is a real family friend,”
said Mrs. K. L. Davidson of Chelsea,
Oklahoma, recently, after keeping a
five-day record of all telephone calls
made and received at her home.
“Our telephone not only keeps us ‘in
touch’ with the family and friends, but
is a time-saver and step-saver in run-
ning the house—helps me in my dress-
making as well! All this service—at an
average cost of for every call made
