Homecoming Set
At Lanes Chapel
Mrs. Lola Barton, secretary of
the Lanes Chapel Memorial As-
sociation, announced that it is
time to make plans to make
your way to the little white
church on the corner, to greet
relatives, friends and neighbors
and to join in a great day of
I visitation and fellowship along
f with singing, a time of worship,
and of taking part in the election
of officers for the coming year
of the Lanes Chapel Memorial
Ass’n.
She further stated that “there
is some new business to be dis-
cussed about the cemetery that
everyone that has relatives at
rest there will be interested in.
Th Business committee is ask-
ing everyone who has an un-
marked grave in the cemetery
if possible to mark it in some
way. We are trying to identify
all of the graves in the ceme-
tery. Your help is needed in do-
ing this. Maybe some graves are
lost that you could help find.’’
Program for the day includes:
10 a.m. — Song, prayer, greet-
ings. A time of singing old songs
that has been sung so many
years in the little church and a
time of testimony, “What Lanes
1 Chapel Means to Me."
11 a.m. — Business meeting,
reading of records for past year
by Mrs. Lola Barton, secretary,
also election of officers and new
business for coming year.
12 Noon — Dinner served on
the long tables under the beauti-
ful trees that have stood for so
many years to shade the ground
of Lanes Chapel.
Mrs. Barton also stated to,
"bring you baskets of food and
enjoy the day with us. Also bring
your water jugs as there is no
water on the grounds.
Homecoming Day is the regu-
lar singing day at Lanes Chapel
and singing will be enjoyed by
all until 4 p.m. It is understood
that there will be singers from
many places; duets, trios, quar-
tets, etc. Everyone is invited.

County Junior
4-H Food Show
Ten 4-H’ers entered their food
in the annual County Junior 4-H
Food Show May 20 in the Clifton
City Hall.
The Food Show has nine ob-
jectives which each of the mem-
bers is trying to accomplish.
One of the objectives is to gain
an understanding of the prepa-
ration and combination of whole-
some foods and of the selection
of an adequate diet. Each of the
contestants are judged on their
knowledge of foods and nutrition,
the food exhibited, on their ex-
hibit, on the recipe of the food
m exhibit, and on the day s
menu in which their food is used.
In order to enter the food show
4-H members attend group meet-
ings in foods and nutrition. These
project groups are conducted by
adult leaders who teach the nu-|
tritive value of foods, the foods
needed each day, preparation of
foods, science of foods, good
food habits and good table man-
ners.
The foods programs were im-
proved this year in that the
science of foods was emphasized, I
bringing about reasoning on the I
part of each person in the group. |

nior 4;H Food Show and their
